I am contemplating kicking up the exhaust note on my Vision. Does anyone have the Voodoo mufflers installed?
If yes, can you please provide some feedback as it relates to the exhaust note/aggressiveness. For example, on a scale from 1 to 5 with 5 being extremely aggressive/obnoxious and one being stock OEM. From what I can tell by YouTube clips, I would put Atom Bombs and Big Honkers bordering on a 5, L1S1 at a 2.5 (currently installed).
At the end of the day I am looking to get a deep rumble at idle and increased exhaust note through the RPM range without drowning out audio etc.
Witchdoctor...if you are out there I would like to hear from you. I have listened to the video clip on your site but its hard to really tell
BTW...if I do move forward with the Voodoos, I will be selling my L1S1. They only have 4000 miles on them.
Thanks!

Posts: 691 Manchester, CT | BBQWIZ, I looked at the freedom exhaust and its a nice setup. The problems with that exhaust is it won't fit on my bike due to having a reverse kit installed. In addition, the voodoo is a third of the cost since I will be sending my stock OEM mufflers to Witchdoctor's. |

Posts: 1066 Peru, IN | Tom --- I"ve heard the S1L1/S1L2s (Stage 1/Level 1 and 2). On your scale, I'd call the S1L1s about a 1.5 and the S1L2s about a 2.5. If sound is what you're after, I'd say the S1L1s are a waste of money. I'm going for the S1L2 sound. I'm guessing WDs unbaffled pipes plus a set of home made baffles (like azschmeh did over on the VOG) will do the trick. Cheaper than the Voodoos as I think I can get a couple pieces of pipe (for the baffles) for less than $30 and I'll do the cutting myself (although I might buy an angle grinder with a cut off wheel for the job). I figure it should be less than $300 and I'll be able to modify the baffles as needed. (Long trip, wrap the baffles. Feeling rebellious, lose the wrap.) |

Posts: 691 Manchester, CT | Thanks Monkeyman et all. I can always count on the folks on this forum.
I agree, although its too late since they are already on my bike, that the L1S1s aren't what I am looking for. I've gone ahead and pulled the trigger on the WD's Voodoos. I'm not looking to have an obnoxious exhaust but I want the exhaust note to wake up the 4 wheeled creatures surrounding me when it deems necessary. With the cams, upper filter, spacer and PC-V being installed this weekend, the WDs will allow the engine to breathe more than the L1S2s.
I will report back on the new install including exhaust note comparison between the L1S2 and the Voodoos. |
