The good news is that Victory brought back the availability of having an HID headlight on the Vision.

The bad news is that it will add $1,749.99 to the cost.

Black is now the most expensive color (with white being the cheapest and orange in the middle). Huh? $1800 for the HID? $800 for black brake/shifter levers? $1500 for GPS? I'm hoping one of their webmasters is just having some fun (before they get fired).

Maybe the Vision price increase is a marketing/sales ploy to move potential buyers to XCx

Did anybody else notice that they carried over the same spec error they made last year? They're showing the rear suspension travel as 3.65" which is the spec for the short shock on the Ness. The Tour has 4.7". I noticed it last year so I checked the parts list and they're still showing two different shocks and the Tour one specified is the same as previous years when they spec'd the travel at 4.7". Looks like its the same error.

Not surprising since nothing else has changed on the Vision. Nothing to update, nothing to proofread.

didnt they LOWER the price in 2012? I remember when i bought my left over 2011, it was more than a 2012, but they matched the price to get the 2011 off the floor..now i know they the 2012 had Less chrome than my 2011 , but still the price came down..

And $1800 for the HID. Either a misprint or the (soon to be unemployed) webmaster was having some fun.

Having spent quite a bit of time being involved with product dev and management, the first tell tale sign of a product going end of life is no enhancements to that product. Re-introducing HID as option moot when it comes to drawing new buyers to the Vision. No matter what happens, my love for my Vision will never wane...what it will do is increase the pleasure of owning a very unique and awesome ride!

I love my Vision, too, but if it was no longer available (and I was ready for another bike), I'd buy a XCT. Not the same by any means, but a close 2nd.

Hey Monkeyman....+1. One of the things I would liked changed on the XC would be design of the lower semi fairings.

Sorry guys..not trying to redirect this thread to be a XC discussion

When it comes time to buy a replacement for my Vision, and they are no longer made, I will likely opt for a Road Glide Ultra or a BMW 1600GT. I'm not really a fan of the X bikes....

I stole the salesmans demo XCT this morning while waiting on my bike at the dealer (they were supposed to align the belt but didn't get around to it). At the very least, it would need a backrest and handlebars. I rode it about 30 miles and it wasn't bad but still didn't compare to my Vision. It had that short (tinted) Klock Werks flip windscreen. Not bad.

I can't handle the riding position of the BMW but the RGU was on my short list last fall. Still a nice bike. We'll see what Harley does with them when (if?) they reintroduce them in '15.

Appears victory has sold out the vision line to go with tradtional look. The cross country tour has more standard features. Haven't been paying a lot of attention but though about replacing my 08 premium tour . But why can't get Any thing like it even for $ .

Yes, but due to factors like higher taxation, perhaps import duties, tarrifs, employment taxes, higher cost of doing business or whatever, customarily it has been the practice to charge more in Canada. I hate to be an ignoranus, lol, but historically things have always been more expensive in Canada and it was always blamed on the value of the dollar. Not so sure anymore!

If you watch the 2014 line up promo video for touring, the Vision and XCT are discussed. The Vision is always up front the XCT behind it. If I saw the Video and didn't know much about Victory, I would assume the Vision was the preferred model due to handling and performance, while the XCT if more for longer distance rides due to the extra storage. I was very surprised how much the Vision was in the add.

The Vision in the third best selling bike after the CC and CCT. Let's be honest, the CC and CCT appeal to a larger market. The Vision has settled into it's place in the Victory lineup, behind the cross bikes. The Vision will always sell to those who want something different. It gets more compliments at the Indiana Motorcycle each year. I see more and more Harley riders considering the Vision. I've worked my dealers booth the last 5 years, and the Vision gets a lot of compliments, but that gets lost with the large market appeal of the crossbikes.

Just thinking out loud...If you take a good look at the Vision's front end/fairing, is is a little schizophrenic. Its a blending of a goldwing, yamaha, kawasaki etc look. By no means would I want another me too but if Victory did a retro batwing fairing that has the same flare of the rest of the body lines it might attract new buyers

By 2014 you'd think Victory could/would come up with some upgrades to the Vision besides ABS. The only thing happening to the Vision is it is losing some of it's nice features like the HID, illuminated side emblems and saddle bag dampeners. You'd think by now they would have come up with some LED tail lights and turn signals; better speakers (6.5" ), passenger back rest for the street configuration, chrome cover for the exhaust cross over tube, etc. The overall body work is 2nd to none so if it never changes it will always turn heads. A few technological updates occasionally and some more reasonably priced options would be nice.

Had a cross country before my vision, won't go backwards, vision rides and handles so much better. Keeping my vision for a long while. Nothing on the current market that I would trade for. Hope Victory keeps it's modern design, out of the box thinking and comes up with a state of art new touring bike again ......one day, like it did with the vision (maybe a new vision) then I might buy/trade again. Indian will be nice but not a touring bike and just a chromed out show piece. Just my opinion.

if the cross country is selling better then the vision why is there a $2000 rebate on the cc and a $1000 on the vision? it seems to me the better a bike sells the smaller the rebate.

ABS has been standard on the Vision since '11 (optional in '10). There are some things that MaVic won't offer because they're available in the aftermarket (like the chrome crossover cover...Rick also sells them in black). Other things are just too expensive like the saddlebag door dampeners. Pretty much everyone agrees the paint quality is pretty craptastic but Victory won't even address that. What makes anyone think they'll "improve" something that's NOT widely complained about?

I like the white vision with the carbon decals. When I went to buy mine the add photo made the silver look whit and that was what I was expecting to see at the dealer. Got the silver anyway but I do like the white.

Monkeyman... I was also pretty pissed at the paint quality, especially how the black showed scratches. I used Liquid Glass wax (4 coats) this spring and it still pops with shine and I haven't waxed it since. The black even looks good.

Sounds like total BS to me. What good is a tour bike that can't tune to the local station for weather or local news reports. In larger cities that also means traffic reports during rush hour. I try to avoid the need for morning traffic reports by riding through a large city before getting a room but it would be silly not to have the ability to monitor traffic reports.
