For those that have been on the factory tours in Spirit Lake, do you have to book the tour in advance? Plan on being there next Friday and would like to stop by.

Steve, where is the Indian factory at? My brother and I are traveling to St. Paul for the Car Craft Nationals on July 20th and we were going to make a slight detour to see the Victory factory. Trying to convince him to get rid of his '09 RoadGlide and get a Victory so we can stop going to all the Harley dealerships and actually do some riding. He has like 9000 miles on his bike and I have 28,000 on my '08 Vision. I would like to see and hear the new Indians in person (besides on the internet).

Got this response last year about this time when I was hoping to make it through the area:

Thank you for contacting Polaris Industries regarding your interest in touring a Polaris Facility. To schedule a tour please contact the facility directly:

Spirit Lake, IA (Manufactures Victory motorcycles and Off-Road Vehicles; located near the MN/IA border) - - Call 712-336-3797 and follow the teleprompt by pressing 4 for a Plant Tour.

Again, thank you for contacting Polaris Industries.

Same place as the Victory factory. They just expanded the plant to allow for another production line.

Southwest corner of highway 71 and highway 9 intersection in Spirit Lake, Iowa. You can't miss it--literally.

Yes, all tours are cancelled until they unveil the 2014 model lineup (Both Victory & Indian) which is essentially during Sturgis Bike Week (the first full week in August).

I went on the factory tour during the avr last year on a Saturday ; I would recommend going on a weekday if you want to see it in operation as they just had a handful of employees there to show you around on the weekend.

My wife and I took a tour this past February. Our tour guide congratulated us on being the last two people to see the plant before the Indian line was installed.

The Indian line is in the same building as the Rangers and the Victorys, and it will be in between those two production lines. You will, literally, be able to walk from the Vic production line to the Indian production line in about 5 seconds, as they are across the isle from each other.
