| I'll be there, I made reservations last year but have since bought a tent trailer which I will be pulling. And of course I had to pay for one night up-front so I'm sure that's not coming back. Would anybody like to buy my reservation for a discount? It's at the "Inn at Okoboji" rate is $169. and I have put a $185. deposit.
I'd settle for $150. back if that's even possible. If anybody is interested, I'll give them a call and see how we can work it out.
Never the less... hope to see you all there. |

| Cenla RV Park http://www.okobojicamping.com/ This will be my third year staying there, rates are reasonable, it is clean, and the owners are nice. Two years ago, Greg Brew (Victory design team) and family were staying in the site next to ours. Had a very good conversation with him about the good and bad points of the Vision. He is a very "real" and personable individual. Very easy to talk to. |

| Last year I stayed at Cenla Campground. Just south of highway 9 on highway 71 about a 1/2 mile.
It was quiet, clean and had a pool. It was ok but nothing great. Reasonable rate.

| Thanks, I had read reviews of Cenla campgrounds... it seems not everybody was as happy with them as you seem to be. I think I'll give it a try, it looks to be very close to where I want to be. |

Yep. The factory is at the junction of Highway 71 and Highway 9. If you follow 71N , which jogs East about 5 miles and then goes North again, you'll be in Minnesota in another 5 or 6 miles. If you go West on Highway 9 about 70 miles or so, you'll find yourself in South Dakota. Sioux Falls, SD is about 85 miles west of Spirit Lake.

Posts: 494 Akron Ohio area | Check with your dealer and see if they have a VIP pass.
I went last year and the VIP pass got me a more complete tour of the assembly plant and some other minor goodies too.
Last year each dealership was given one VIP pass to do with whatever they wanted.
I highly recommend the bike wash and the bike detailing stands at the plant.
A donation is expected, but the recipients of the money seemed to be worthy.
I stayed at the Inn at Okoboji which I found to be centrally located between the park events/vendors and the factory.
It's located by a large lake and off the beaten trail down into a development.
I felt very safe there and didn't worry about someone messing with my motorcycle while I slept.
They have a bar.
http://www.bojifun.com/
I have to say that finding good food and service wasn't easy to do in the area.
Several attempts by our group to find acceptable food and service was for naught.
The best place I ate was fairly expensive ($17 for a burger, fries and beer) right down on the lake where the events are held.
One of the bars that I had hoped to spend some time at smelled of vomit when we checked it out early on.
From this site
http://www.okobojibeat.com/okoboji/restaurants.htm
You can see that dining is very limited.
"Taco House" is the #1 rated restaurant (I did not dine there)
Some of my Canadian friends ate at "Oaktree Bar-B-Que" and they seemed to think it was okay.
I'm glad I went and very glad I went with friends.
I really don't see me going again.
There aren't any good roads to ride and 1/2 a day at the factory and 1/2 a day at the park was more than enough time to see and do everything I wanted to do.
If you are camping and the weather hold up, it could be a good time.
They also had some bands playing for night time entertainment, but I didn't care for either of them.
It rained a couple times while I was there which pretty much confined me to my room for 1/2 a day.
It was unseasonably cold there last year which made my poolside suite pretty much useless.

Fountain Inn, SC United States | I'll be going this year as well. Looking forward to meeting many more members from this site.
You'll also get a chance to meet the other partner in our Victory-Rider sites, Miles Baron. He's got a surprise up his sleeve that I'll let him announce!
Also, once again, Victory-Riders will be sponsoring another Talk on Saturday afternoon.
Last year Steve Rollin was kind enough to share his experiences from his Key West, FL to Deadhorse,AK ride.
This year's our topic:
"Let's Talk Performance!" with Lloyd Greer of Lloydz Motor Works. Tentative schedule is for 2pm on Saturday in the Roof Garden building (next to the bike show). Check the AVR posted schedule when you arrive to be sure.
Hope to see you all there!!! |
