Posts: 17 St Cloud, MN | Dropped the bike for the first time this morning. I was going less than .5 mpg turning into a parking lot, at the last second I spotted a parking place on the street immediately in front of me and I decided to use. I applied some brake and down it went. It was a bonehead mistake... too much brake at a super slow speed lean. I've been riding for decades, big bikes too and this sucker got away from me quick!
Good news is that the tip overs worked perfectly. Only marks on the bike are where the tip overs touched down. |

| I know the feeling. Thought the side stand was down and it wasnt. Didnt leave a mark on the tip overs. It was about 100 degrees when I dropped it at the Grand Canyon. Left 2 nice gouges in the blacktop though. |

| Glad to hear all's ok, but do NOT put blind faith in those tip overs. Too much force applied during the tip over will cause the bike to continue falling beyond that point. It's happened twice to me causing major damage to the fairing. Once from a really nasty weather event - bike was parked outside. Bike had a Dowlco cover on it. Near as I can tell (I wasn't present), the force of the wind, against that bike, slammed the bike into the pavement.
And second time, during a low-speed bike accident, I was driving very slowly and stopped abruptly, BUT where the tip over should have met the asphalt, there was a very large dip right at the contact point. So the bike went completely over.

Posts: 2118 Pitt Meadows, BC Canada | I am still recovering from my tip-over. I had to apply brakes when nearly stopped but bike was on an angle - went down to the right, with my Co-Pilot on top of me. I fought hard with the ground to allow the bike and the wife to land gently. I was wearing leathers, but here is my right arm a week after. Now a month after and arm is still sore, but mostly healed. Bike is OK, Wife is OK, but me ... not so OK !!! Last ride: June 3rd.

| Tested them many times, and they work great for me! I just back into it to pick it up & act like nothing happened. Which it didn't to the bike (only my pride) only mark are on the under side of tip-overs. |

Posts: 17 St Cloud, MN | Wow, some of these comments make my morning seem like a walk in the park. I was lucky or not depending on how you look at it - I was going to a large meeting with many people I know, several saw me go down and raced access the street to help upright it. I appreciated the help but a bit embarrassing.

Posts: 329 scotts valley, California | Serves me right I guess; I ran a stop sign making a 90* right, downshifting to first going into the turn. Usually when I'm trying to go into neutral, it slides right on by into first. This time I wasn't trying for neutral and really surprised when I had no way to power out of the turn I was already leaned into. What a weird feeling, but the tip-overs did their job. |

Posts: 155 Stockton, California | I had my first tipover last month with the wife on the bike. Was a slow parking lot turn to the left and like a dummy was looking down and guess what?? I went where I was looking. The good thing was I kept the clutch in and immediately hit the kill switch. I felt good about that part since I could see that more damage could be done if the clutch was let out and the bike jerked forward. But has it was it was only my ego that got hurt. Bike was easy to pick up and we were on our way. Even wife said "well I'm glad we got that out of the way". (first time going down in 25,000 miles) Good to know that the tipovers did what they were designed to do. |

| I tried my tipovers last year about 1 month after getting my bike, it was the start of long ride and my mind was elsewhere. I was making a slow right hand turn and didn't notice some quarter sized rocks strewn across the road. I leaned into the corner the back tire hit the rocks and boom over it went, the bike skided about a foot on the tipovers.
The tip overs are scraped a bit, bare aluminum is showing. My dealer asked if I wanted to look at replacing them and I said no they are a constant reminder of what can happen if you don't respect the bike. |

| Yep activated my tip over 'app' first time I rode away from the dealer. was ridin around town, feeling real good. pull into a gas station, turned off the engine and stepped off the. bike and over she went. fortunately just me and the gas attendant were present. he helped me pick up the bike. sure glad Vic put them on our bikes. now I also activate the 'kickstand app' every time now. |
