Posts: 83 Springfield Mo. | Just back from a trip from Mo. to Va. then south on Skyline Drive and the Blue Ridge Parkway to Cherokee NC. Rode Tail of the Dragon and the Cherahola Skyway, then across the Smokies and back to Mo. Dodged the cages and storms and even enjoyed spending a couple of hours under an overpass with a couple of hobos waiting out a hailstorm. 2800 miles and saw exactly 2 other Visions. One in Front Royal Va. and one at the Tail of the Dragon resort. Saw some beautiful scenery and a few relatives but sorry my wife couldn't make this trip. |

Posts: 83 Springfield Mo. | I was there on 6/8. Come on BMW riders never quit, at least, that's what my BMW riding buddy tells me, and he rarely does. The Skyline and BRP together do get a little monotonous after a while. I told my wife that the scenery starting reminding me of Yellowstone buffalo after a while. The first few you see excite you a bit but after a few days and a few hundred of them, you just want them out of the road. Glad I did it though. |

| Just got back from almost the same ride! Spent two nights (10th and 11th) at the Tail of the Dragon riding the local roads and then home to Ct. going North on Skyline Drive and the Blue Ridge Parkway from Cherokee. Not as long of a ride, only 2,500. Great week. |

| Agreed, riding long trips on a Vision is like riding around on a soft leather couch. Life is good. |

I usually meet and have more conversations with people when solo than when in a group. |

Posts: 42 Bella Vista, AR | I was at the Dragon last Thursday. Saw a midnight cherry in the parking lot at the Deals Gap MC Resort, and a black one croosing the bridge at Fugitive Dam while I was off the bike getting a pic of the dam. The Smokies are a great area, but I'll definitely allow for more than one day in the area next trip. I agree that riding solo is much more stress free than riding with a group, just hate the thought of something happening that far from home with nobody around to help out. |

| Just got back from my first solo trip a week ago. Day 1- Rode from Salt lake down.-15 to LA and Santa Monica pier. 800 miles that day. Day 2 - Rode the PCH (sr-1) up to San Francisco 350 mi. Highly recommended ride. Very beautiful Day 3 - from San Francisco still on the coastal highway (sr 1) up to Garberville in Humbolt county. 350 mi..30 or so miles after Fort Bragg the highway leaves the coast. Garberville is Redwood country. A MUST SEE. DAY 4 - After my stay in Garberville a few miles north is the Avenue of the Giants. About 30 miles long. Then Hwy 36 east to Reno. 380 miles. Twisties for about 100 mi. Day 5 -Reno to Salt lake 560 mi. Via I-80
Total 2400 miles in 5 days.
Less then 4 weeks of Vision ownership total 3600 miles.
The ride from Santa Monica to the Redwoods and hwy 36 is in my opinion a MUST DO. Put it on your bucket list.
Stay on SR -1 as much as possible. Google maps suggests the 101 because of the more direct route. The Coastal and mountain twisties are awesome. The rest of the trip not so exciting.

| Sound great!!! I'm looking forward seeing that part of the county soon as I can find more time.I've been south to Padre Island, TX., west to Ojai,CA. and just finished the Hot Bike Power Tour a couple of weeks ago which went as far north as Milwakee,WI.well the Power Tour ended in Racine,WI. but Milwakee was right there and it was Harleys 110th so what the heck.. I've had my VV 8Ball 11months and have accumulated 19473 miles. I only ride if I'm bymyself or with someone.

Posts: 803 Perry Hall, MD | Planning a solo down the Blue Ridge Pkwy, cross over to Gatlinburg, take the Dragon back to NC then down to Atlanta to attend a wedding then back to Baltimore. Anyone know what weather I should plan on riding in the Smokies November 5-7?
Solo suits me most of the time, but I have made an entry or two in my trip journal when I would have liked to have had someone to share the ride with. |

| I have completed many miles on the BRP and just loved every minute of it. I'm very fortunate to live just a couple miles from it in SC. My Vision has turned too many a head to count whilst carving the curves up there |
