| I am absolutely, for whatever reason, "awe-struck" with the 2013 Anti Freeze Green XC..Maybe I should not be but am seriously considering trading my 2011 Silver/Black Vision for the thing if I can work out decent numbers with the dealer..I know there are pros/cons on both sides but I would welcome any input from others..I do not ride 2-up anymore, very little highway time, only used adjustable shield twice in the last 3 riding seasons and just plain love the XC...Problem is I think my Vision is the best damn bike I have ever ridden and also love the thing...At 73+ years I could go for the weight reduction on the XC and just cannot get it out of my mind...Any thoughts....? |

W'ford Tx | I recently went though this same struggle. I decided to keep my vision over the XC though. Mostly though because the dealer couldn't get the numbers I wanted. Had to much in the vision and they only offered 7k. Made it pretty easy for me. |

Grafton, Oh | I would recommend a test ride. Make sure you won't be disappointed with the ride compared to VV. If you like it, get it.

| I actually kept my 2008 vision and bought an antifreeze green XC on 5/31. Dropped it off for the 500 mile service yesterday, I put 500 miles on it in a week.
Pros:
I think it's easier to handle due to the reduced weight on the front end
It's easier to get on and off of
Kicker speakers are awesome
Radio is great. AM and FM reception is just as good as riding in a car
Cons:
Severely reduced wind protection
You'll need another windshield - the blade puts wind right in your face
Lose some Ipod functions |

Isn't it fun that at our age, Opa, we can still get "awe-struck" by a machine? I'm about 4 years younger than you and I was similarly "awe-struck" after I took my first demo ride on a Vision over a year ago. I had been riding Gold Wings for almost 35 years. My concern was something akin to "what if I don't like the Vision as well as I've liked my Wings", and "how will my family and friends (and probably me) view me on a Vision as opposed to on a Wing". I'm sure you get the idea. Finally in April of this year, I decided that it's my life, my money and my decision. So I pulled the trigger on the Vision. So, since the first of May, I've put on nearly 4000 miles and I am still "awe-struck" with the Vision.
If you need to lighten, even if only slightly, your Vision, remove the trunk. I've done that and didn't think it made a big difference. But after a few days of riding in varying weather conditions, I think the trunk will stay off at least into the foreseeable future. It does indeed make the handling much lighter feeling. You have to remember, if the Vision starts going over I'm not strong enough to stop it. The same will hold true with the XC. The only difference is that the Vision won't care a bit if comes over onto the TipOver points, but the XC is going to suffer damage.
Lastly, if you really like the ride of your Vision, I very seriously doubt that you will come back with that same feeling with the XC. It will be night and day difference. But remember, what's the worst outcome? That you don't like the XC after all and you want a Vision back. Right? So you take your punishment like a man and either pay to get back on a Vision or you suck it up and say "I've made my bed so now I have to sleep in it". Either way, you'll be fine and you'll enjoy each bike. It's just that they are different.
Good luck with your decision. Knowing that you are "awe-struck" tells me you are definitely engaged in life and living. And that's what it's all about. |

Central Illinois | Opas, kick back, relax and envision you, that really means you, not someone else, riding both bikes. Is there anything about one or the other that really trips your trigger? That is the thing that I would focus on. If you have no definite preference after that exploration, you are on your own. My guess is that you really do have a preference that only you can discover for yourself.

Lindale, TX | I wanted the cross country until I drove it. Less wind management and road comfort in my 6'7" humble opinion. I'll keep my Vision until Victory comes out with a Victory Adventure Touring bike even bigger than the BMW GSA. Then my long legs will be interested. Dreaming huh? |

Clayton, NY (1000 Islands) | Went from XC to the Vision. To me XC is more difficult to handle in slow, parking lot maneuvers. Maybe you should wait and see if Victory redesigns the Vision (more storage... maybe). Great point on the tip over points also.
