I am moving from the street pilot 2820  to the Zumo 350  on my 10th Anniversary Vision.    (the 2820 seems to have failed - it is like the touch screen is getting random input)

So,  what do I need to make the change?   I assume the 2820 mount and wiring will not work, right?

I like the integration to the Vision sound system - can this be done with the Zumo 350?

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I would like this info also. My 2820 that came with Anny works find but is dated. So many times I see new GPS units with lifetime maps dirt cheap. Just don't see anyone making a plug and play cable.

I used my 2820 mount by making an adapter plate (I made several ,if you want one PM me) the 350m is Bluetooth only for audio. So if you already run a Bluetooth for your phone you are set. The only connection you have to make is power. There are no plug and play cables that I know of. I like that the audio no longer comes through my helmet. The ease at which you can remove this unit has a couple of advantages. It is self powered so you can remove it and sit in the shade while you imput new locations or search for services or for security when you are away from the bike.

If it were me, I read up on the 350 vs 550, 650 & 660 on the Zumo Forums...

I'm digging that view! Reminds me of going over the seven mile bridge to Key West. Where was this taken?

Here are some pictures. The mount moves the new unit up some and uses the original screws. Two of the screws have to be shortened and there are 4 studs sticking up to run nuts for mounting the new bracket. The bracket is anodized aluminum and the studs are stainless steel.

I completed this project this evening. It was pretty simple to convert from the 2820 to the Garmin Zumo 350LM. I purchased a RAM MOUNT SQUARE 2" X 1.7" BASE W/ 1" BALL RAM-B-347U which conveniently had holes that matched the Victory 2820 aluminum perch. This enabled me to simply mount that RAM ball to the perch using the 4 screws from the 2820 mount. Then the arm and identical ram mount that came with the Zumo allowed me to connect the Zumo with that articulated arm. It is not in the way of any of the other gauges or switches.

Wiring was a bit more difficult but pretty easy too. I cut off the end of the Victory 2820 connector so that I had a 4-wire bundle. Black and Red are power, brown and white are the audio inputs. Using the supplied power cable from Garmin, I cut it to allow it to go through the grommet from the 2820 installation and used Posi-tite connectors to reconnect it. I then took a 3.5mm audio cable plugged it into the headphone output on the bottom of the Zumo and ran that wire through the grommet and used Posi-lock connectors to connect to the audio input wires. Stashing the excess wires and the Garmin fuse took a few zip ties and I was done.

The Zumo powers right up and turns on and off with Vision ignition switch. The audio connection works great, too, plenty of volume and it automatically mutes my music or radio when giving directions. Pleased with the change and the simplicity of installation.

Hey Rollin', is that the Mackinac Bridge? My brother and I are riding up your way in July to the Car Craft Show in Minneapolis and crossing over to Canada and then back down to Michigan across the Mackinac.

Yes. That was crossing from Wisconsin to Michigan.
