| ... I've also posted this on the "other" Vic forum...
First I thought I had my mind set on a Nuclear Sunset Orange XC. Then after a little time, research and a test ride, I started to lean towards the Sunset Red Vision. Went to the dealership again today to get more info on next week's factory demo tour day. Sat on both bikes again and there are just so many things I like about both.
The XC has a more classic look and I love the size of those saddle bags. The look of the rear of this bike is just awesome! The dash is nice too and the bike does feel very natural to me. There are a few things it'd need to be perfect though... #1 would be a flip windshield and the upper air deflectors to add a little more wind management to the bike. #2 would be passenger floorboards & backrest w/luggage rack for when the wife is riding along with me (that'd only be a couple times a year as she has her own bike). #3 different exhaust & probably would go with Victory's Tri-Oval system.
Then there's the Vision... Love that bike too. The feel of the bike would take a little getting used to as it does feel/ride differently than the XC & is a little heavier. The wind management is pretty amazing, but I do like to feel the wind some. The stereo is crystal clear since it doesn't have to compete with wind noise much at all. I love the roomy feel of the cockpit too as the dash is a mile out in front of you. I feel I also have a little more leg room on the Vision as the floor boards feel a touch more forward than the XC does. Not much, just a little. Like the XC the Vision would also need a few things to make it perfect though too... #1 Lower wind deflectors as engine heat was very noticeable on my last test ride (last week) and it was only 65 degrees out. Probably much warmer in the middle of summer. #2, a block off panel in order to remove the trunk. Since my wife wouldn't be on the bike much, I'd probably ride more with the trunk off than on. And like the XC, #3 is the exhaust system. I'd probably go with Victory's stage 1 kit here eventhough I wouldn't mind something with more bite to it like the Tri-Oval's give the XC.
Part of me thinks the XC would fit my needs more often than not... Probably a better solo bike and not bad at all 2 up. The lighter feel and with a little more wind protection I'm sure I'd be riding with a smile on my face all day.
Then the other part of me thinks the Vision would be better... more wind management without any additional work needed (other than lower defectors). The roomy feel is just expectional and I really really like that. The look is pretty cool too & I love that I wouldn't look like every other rider on the road.
Decisions, decisions, decisions... what to do??? I just don't know. Gotta figure it out soon as the demo tour is here next week and then I'll have 10 days to use the coupon/voucher. Also have to sell the Roadstar first, but hopefully that'll happen quickly too.

| I am currently recovering from having 3 discs fused in my neck. I lost use of my right arm. As I recover I am slowly gaining the use of my arm. Our Vision is easy enough for me to handle that we are back to riding already. It helps me keep me motivated and keep me from getting too depressed. The Vision has been the best motorcycle purchase I have made in my 25 years riding.
The only thing I would change is I would add the factory comms.
Either way.. Enjoy the ride!! |

Posts: 573 Central Illinois | Put the HD up for sale and zero in on that Vision. I live where winds can be a real issue and the frame mounted fairing will be a real life saver in a cross wind. I presently ride a shark, an HD FLTRU, and can guarantee that a frame mounted fairing makes all the difference when you have a cross wind. I personally do not care much for the appearance of a Vision but that is the only Victory that I am considering. Heck even my 1981 Honda with a Vetter IV fairing can beat most bikes when it comes to wind management. A frame mounted fairing makes the steering feel very light, just like a bike with no fairing as far as handling, and gives superior wind performance as well. |

| Buy what suits you the best...It is your money..Personally I ride a Vision and love it...Different from anything out there right now...Just remember that you can never find the "perfect" bike so don't try to...Make your choice and do not look back!!! |

| The only way to know is take both for a nice ride like the way you ride normally. Anny (Vision) is a big heavy girl but handles like a dream when moving. My biggest reasons for not to buy a 15th are reverse is not included and no power windshield. Love my windshield. Get off the highway let it down and feel the wind.
Let us know what you decide. |

Posts: 30 Scottsdale | I bought the Vision. Really liked both but the CC lost out to the Vision simply because after riding both the Vision is a better handling bike for ME. Not saying anything against a CC but it didn't give me the Vision ride. Only dislikes. 1st gear winds out pretty early, getting used to it. Not a fan of the trunk while not touring. Don't like paying for a piece of plastic to cover hole. Upside bike looks incredible without trunk. Good luck |

Posts: 2300 Georgia, west of Atlanta | I like the CC too and it does have more storage capacity ( we all know that ) But the Vision is the bike for me. Heck I sold my RoadGlide and I now have two Visions : a 2008 and a 2013. One is my tourer and the other my townie.............. |
