Posts: 136 CALGARY ALBERTA | I am assembling my 2008 after some damage in a trailer accident.
1400.00 in parts and I do the work
But still alive to tell this.
I don't know where the black wire from the instrument cluster harness goes

Posts: 25 Wiscasset, ME | This wire senses the temperature of the outside ambient air . A lot of guys move it down near the forks at the bottom of the front fairing to get a true temperature. |

Fountain Inn, SC United States | That ring connector isn't the actual temp sensor. Isn't the sensor at the other end of the wire? So where does he attach it the end in question? |

Posts: 136 CALGARY ALBERTA | That explains why I don't see any friction marks on the connector. Must have been loose behind mirror. That's where I received the damage. I'll move it down as per suggestions. Thanks |

| try this turn key on hold match "BY" terminal and see if temp goes up.
Behind left hand mirror is a slot in the plastic where the wire is pinched in place.
I moved mine down and have checked with several smart phones and now am dead on and laugh at all the banks there are not even close.
