Posts: 53 Raleigh, NC | It was with great sadness that I said goodbye to my Vision on Sunday after only a year riding enjoyment. I know many of you would disagree with my reason, but we all have to make decisions that are best for ourselves and our families. After my son and I got knocked off the bike (fairly gently) last September, I felt it was best that I not ride until my kids are older. While I am not the breadwinner in my household, I am the daily caregiver to 3 kids, one of which is a brain tumor survivor. So I decided to put my riding on hold until further notice.
I have really enjoyed being a part of the Vision family and spent many hours reading on this forum. It was great to have such an active forum from the beginning when I first started looking at the Vision. I will say that you were all correct that it is simply the best bike on the road. I plan on buying another one in 10 years or so and getting back on the road.
On the bright side, there is now a new and very excited Vision owner in Georgia. Don't be surprised to see him around here soon.
Thanks to all of you for your input and ideas. Ride safe. See you in a decade.

I'm going to see how I do this Summer as far as trips, and physical condition during and after. Old man Arthritus has really begun to hit me hard, especially my lower back and left knee as well as my hands so, after 45 years I may be facing getting out of the saddle very soon.
You've made the right decisions. |

You made a tough but right decision. I too stopped riding back in the 90s. I realized I had some growing up to do. In 1995, my wife and I were blessed with our son. He turned 18 in January and being that I have my life in a great place, I ordered my new 2013 VV. I set riding aside very much like you are doing. Just think, we think Victory Bikes are the best, and they are, but imagine where they will be in 10 years!
Good luck...the time will fly by! |

| I did the same back in 1999. Got rid of my Yamaha VMax because raising 2 boys and spending time with family was more important. The boys turned out to be great young men. (time sure does fly, whether your having fun or not) Now, riding the Vision, it was so worth the wait. |

Paul best of luck to you and your family. Thanks again for selling me the passenger backrest and cover from your vision. I am 95% finish with my winter mods. Here's a pic as I promised with your backrest attached. |

Posts: 573 Central Illinois | Firejedi: I fully support your present riding pause. I stopped riding completely for a few years while my daughters went through high school, then resumed riding after they were out on their own. Each of us makes choices about many things, including riding and that was the best choice for me, or so I felt at the time. I am now back to riding about 3/4 of the total miles that I put on a vehicle in a typical year but it was not always that way. |

Posts: 573 Central Illinois | Firejedi: I completely sympathize with you. I also gave up riding for a while so that my kids could grow up and get out of the house. These days, with all of that behind me, I don't see any new reason to give up riding at all, but each of us has a different time line. I fully respect your decision to stop for now. |
