The middle is empty, no lights just indicators and tail/brake |

Car drivers are used to seeing red lens. As we drive our cars and look a little side ways at something we can pick up a red lens in the corner of our eye. |

That is a vey good point. Hadn't thought of it that way. I would probably want to add a knight rider light to the back if I did this. They get the attention of a driver. |
