I suspect Jim (Laredo) was trying to post a photo for the front page - but ran into the size problem (likely) or didn't know how. I was just teasing.

In any case - for those of you who DON'T know - the Chuckanut is one of the most beautiful drives ANYWHERE - and I do it several times a year - every year because it is so close to me. We usually stop at the 'Oyster Bar' for lunch - their oysters are right from the beach behind them, and the Dungeness Crab is to die for. As is the ride and the scenery !

I have riden Chuckanut Drive only once and it might be one of the most awsome scenic roads in the country. To bad it is not longer but what you get is great.

Good question. Anyone else know?  Looks like a Harley engine ...

Looks like 'she who must be obeyed' is having a contact lens moment! Southbound if you leave Hwy 11 @ Bow-Edison to the West (right turn) Edison has a neat little set of stores and 'JUNQUE' shops right @ the bend then continuing on South takes in farm country and hooks into Hwy 20 where a left takes you to Burlington/Mt. Vernon/I-5, a right takes you to Anacortes (watch the sneaky cop just over the bridge with his radar so go 54 mph) and more junque shops. Turn left off Hwy 11 @ Bow-Edison junction and you'll wind up @ the SKAGIT Casino (formerly a HARRAHS) just off I-5 and several nice restaurants inside plus a place to throw all your excess funds.
Either turn off Hwy 11 puts you on old timey twisty country roads and wonderful views.

Yeah - I know about that cop at the bottom of the bridge ramp - he got me for a hefty fine a year or two back!  After heading down the Chuckanut, we went to the Tulip Festival - we go every year if the weather in late April is good.

Here is a picture of the Dafodils blooming nearby:

The Tulip Festival is when those of us who live in and around Mt. Vernon eiteher leave town, stay in the house, or hope for wind and rain because all the distracted idiots from Seattle come up and plug the streets and roads. It's like the Oyster Run in that early Fall, go early early in the day so you can park your bike, and plan on splitting early or you're stuck duck walking your bike because of all the other bikes plugging Hwy 20, took the second former and me over an hour to get from the edge of Anacortes to the exit for the Whidbey Island ferry dock ( about 6 miles.)'duck walking' the bike.

It looks like HVR or H/R on the tank - not FXR (I don't think) - - I remember thinking at the time (September 2009) that I had not seen any HD that looked like that one.
