Well I bit the bullet and ordered one. Got it cheaper than that site. $95.00 shipped. Will try to post back when I get it in the bike. My OEM battery is still good as far as I can tell, but don't trust taking the bike on another long trip with a 5 year old battery. After I bought it online, found out that BikeBandit.com has them for $76.95 +shipping. Just my luck!

atvtinker --- Your pic shows 500 CCA, that link shows 450 CCA and I don't believe either one. I'll bet it's closer to 300 but maybe I'm all wet.

Put the thing on a load tester when you get it. Inquiring minds want to know.

Maybe that's the one we've all been looking for.

I had to change batteries in my '99 after 8 years and 56,000 miles. My question is what is the difference between batteries when there are only 3 manufacturers in the world and they stick different labels on. I don't ride my '99 much anymore so she would get a Wally World battery next time. Anny will get an Interstate. Price depends on number of plates(mostly) and place of sale.

There have been a few battery posts in the forum. Are you guys having trouble with the stock battery? Mine is 5 yrs old and cranks easily when 14 degrees (coldest I've ridden so far this year). Are there problems with the stock battery and I have just been lucky? The stock one is so much less money than the ones I read about on this forum. Just curious if there is something I don't know. Thanks.

Well, Bike Bandit didn't want me to buy from them online, since they don't think that this battery would fit a 2008 Victory Vision. sheesh....When did Bike Bandit get smarter than me, about my bike? Not sure that I like that feature of their site. I wanted to see what their 'all-in' price would be. Hmm...But about stock batteries, alot would depend upon pre/post purchase abuse. If everyone in the world, wanted to see what the lights looked like, if your bike was on the showroom floor, then that would take some life out of the battery of course. And there are other circumstances as well.

MonkeyMan and victoryvisiontour I believe our OEM batteries are 310cca and 18a/h from what I can tell from Ma Vic's website and they are not cheap. Now granted, I'm not having any trouble as of yet, but am planning on another 5000 mile trip this summer and would rather not be stuck on the side of the road with a dead battery. The one in my bike is the original and this bike was on the showroom floor about a year before I bought it. I was just looking for an alternative battery to try. According to their website it will fit our bikes as it has all the same dimensions. As far as the load test, can they do that at my local Autozone? If so, I'll see what it really specs out as. Would be nice if it really is 500cca and 20a/h.

I just replaced my orig. battery this past weekend, walmart $82.00 put it next to the original one it's the same exact battery. part number ES20LBS. I think a 5 year life out of a battery is good.

They should be able to. Of course, to find out if it really can produce that much amperage, they would have to use a tester that puts that much load on the battery, like one used for large car or truck batteries. The small testers typically used for motorcycle or lawn mower batteries only put a 100 amp load on the battery and won't tell you if yours is capable of handling the higher load. Of course, you'll want to charge the battery after the load test.

Don't think it's the exact same battery. It is the same physical size, but it has only a 90 day warranty and I'm pretty sure it's only 270CCA, although Walmart keeps the actual rating a secret.

I have had the same issue with my battery. Very slow turning the engine over, has to turn it over about 10 -12 revolutins for it to start. But always fire up. Just scared one of these times if it don't fire it may not have enough juice left for a second attempt. Typically it is cooler weather. Always around the freezing point. Every year when my neighbor returns from Arizona I am forced to fire up by Vision from it's winter hibernation in her garage. Battery seemed good in Oct when I drive into her garage, however in April after 5.5 months of being parked in her garage, the battery just does not have the same get up and go. However after my first good ride it seems ok for the rest of the riding season. Should I maybe get a larger CCA battery, or maybe I will install two more in the side bags as these are too small for anything else.

Could be the terminals on that battery are backwards. I've never needed to check but it seems someone said the Vision terminals are switched from whatever is "normal".

I'm not saying it's a bad idea to replace the battery a bit early, just saying I doubt that advertised battery is anywhere near 450-500CCA. I'm not sure the battery in my truck is that big. I'm planning on replacing my rear tire before I head to AVR this year. I probably won't have but 8-10k miles on it but it'll be close enough that I don't want to take a chance. (Besides, I'll need a few hundred miles to break in the CAR TIRE. Just sayin'. :D )

Bike Bandit's website is screwed up. I called the 800 number and they do sell the battery for $76.95 + shipping for the one that fits our bikes. It would have cost me $22.00 for them to ship it to me. That would have saved me about $20.00. Oh well live and learn. AZbattery.com has already shipped mine and it should be here Thursday. Will post back as soon as I get it in.

personally, i prefer to buy one at local "Battery Specialist". if you have a problem they will simply exchange it in the warranty period. and I like to help support local business, even if it cost a couple bucks more.

Banjodan, normally I would buy from someone local, but the local ATV dealer wouldn't order one for me unless I could find a Kawasaki number that would match and the nearest Victory dealer to me is 150 miles. And I refuse to buy from Wal-Mart. Everytime I buy a battery from them, it is dead within 2 years. And don't even get me started on our local AutoZone.

I recommend staying away from the Lithium batteries for the Vision. I have tried two of them and my surged and sometimes died at idle with them in whereas it runs perfect with the AGM. Don't know what the ECM doesn't like about the lithium batteries but doesn't run well with them in my experience. KX at POG says they have had good success with the Lithium batteries on the steel frame bikes. 500 CCA at 3.5 lbs was attractive but just didn't work for me.

Ok guys here is the update on the battery. Tested it at Autozone and it appears to be 425 actual cold cranking amps and is 20a/h. Put it in the bike and it does turn over the bike a lot easier. Starts up a lot quicker (I say alot quicker, probably like 2 seconds faster). Did find that my negative side cable had come loose when taking out the old battery. Bolt was only finger tight. I just checked it before my last trip this past summer. Looks like I'm going to have to put some light duty Loctitie on these bolts if this is going to keep happening. Now for the battery, the post on this thing are a lot beefier and the nut in the top is made into the post. No more fumbling around trying to get it to hold still while you get the bolt started. Everything else about the battery is an exact fit. Will try to post some pics. Last pic shows the voltage with the bike idling. 15 volts? I think my meter is a little off.

skip the lock tight and use lock washers or star washer. Never come loose
