Thinking about selling my trusty old RoadGlide and getting either a CC or a second Vision. I like the light feel of the standard CC, but nothing is more comfortable than a VV. I kinda like the red and black 2013. Maybe if I remove the tourpack it could be my around town bike. Hmmm ???? Decisions, decisions........

My new saying for my Harley buddies ( I've owned 11 HD's ) " Lose the pushrods "...........

Its a fun time. Love my VV. I have had the trunk pack on since I bought my 2008 and can't even tell it is there. The 'mgt' loves the tour pack when we ride 2 up. Many of her girlfriends are jealous of how comfy she is back there. The VV is the best handling bike I've ever ridden. I can ride all day and want to ride more the next day.

Have not removed my trunk either since I have had mine. I regard it as an integeral part of the Vision. It's too handy for easily carring stuff; like beer and raw chickkens....

I bought my sons Hammer(he also has XRoads). The handling and ride are totally different, puts me in a new state of mind when just scooting around town. Only storage are my pockets.

I would like to get a second bike. Since I already have a Vision and everything I want on it, I would get another model. Probably one of the cross bikes. Won't happen for a couple more years though.

I read somewhere (VMC?) that there won't be any RGs next year. If that's true, I'd wait until next year to sell your RG as it might fetch a bit more money.

I rarely ride two up, so I have my tour pack off most of the time. Have it on for trips and that's about it. Having arthritis in my knees it's easier to get on and off the bike and I like not having an additional 40 pounds to carry around.

So true, the RG is the best thing HD makes but it's not near as comfortable as the Vision. As for a new engine, I've been waiting on a modern big twin from Milwaukee for years.........

I can see no CVO RG for a year or so. They haven't had one each year anyway. What year's your RG, Steve?

Mine is a "old" 2003 100th anniversery addition. I added a Baker 6 speed, 6.5 gallon fuel tank, King tour pack and has a 107" Axtell engine. I've always liked it but I think I'll like another Victory in the garage better......... That being said, If Harley produced what I consider a modern engine, I'd buy another one.

Their failure to keep their product updated is one of the reasons I no longer ride HD. HD's commented las year that they would not change the engines in their touring bikes. Other HD owners were suggesting the retune the V-Rod engine.

Those are my thoughts exactly, If they ( HD ) would stroke the V Rod to 4 inches and use their 4.25 inch bore capability they would have a monster water cooled 113" that has DOHC, 4 valves and make an easy 140 RWHP and a good 110 lbs of TQ. But like the guide told us at the engine factory this past August " We could make more modern engines easily, we have the capital and expertise, but why should we ? We sell everything we make now (240,00 units per year) and no one complains..........Sad but true.......

V-Rod motor has no torque to push the weight of a dresser. But fifteen years ago they had Porsche design a motor for them called Nova. They never did nothing with it. V-4 over head valves

Sounds nice. A few years ago, I almost bought a '99. It had all the Ultra goodies (Ultra tour pak, HD lowers, etc), upgraded stereo/speakers, something done to the motor, etc. Whatever they did, it was much smoother than the other Harleys I've ridden although it wasn't nearly as smooth as my Vision. 60k miles and it still looked factory fresh. I still say you can't beat Harley fit/finish.

True, thats why I wrote they need to stroke the engine. It would make plenty of tq then. I saw all three different type Nova engines at the HD museum this past August, there was the V 4 that most people know about, a twin that looks alot from the outside like an aircooled VRod and a massive V 6, now that would have been a monster for the time........But as we all know they continue to make pushrod 2 valve twins.......

Strange, my older brother called me today and said he was going to the Victory dealer in Concord NC this Saturday and is thinking of trading his RoadGlide for a Cross Country.............Never would have thought that. He's had more Harleys than me (9 vs about 15). Could this be the big breakup ??? I'll let ya'll know if it goes down................

Just asking?? If Harley's are so "outdated" why is it then, as their Director of Marketing recently said, that they sell every bike that they build and then some..Quote from his statement " we have the expertise, the financing, and the ability to change things, but why should we???...Still I would not trade my Vision for a HD....

Most HD riders just don't care about having a modern engine, They like the style, sound, theme and the aftermarket support..........
