| Had a good time at the show. The local Honda dealer does package for $79 on a bus.
It seems to be getting bigger each year. Which is good cause it means the economy is getting better.
The Honda Goldwing Street was pretty in black. Wonder if they will have the same problem as the Vision Street? Buyers trying to save a buck then whine about the price of the trunk then bitch cause they don't have matching keys? Knowing Honda they will have a dealer match key available for a $100 and Wingers will be waiting in line...
I talked with a fellow at the Avon display. They introduced a new Vision/Goldwing tire on Saturday. It has 3 compounds. They center is firmer, the sides are softer and the 3rd compound binds everything together. They have $25 back for every qualified tire after the show till 3-1-13. AvonMoto.com/IMSOffer Code IMS2013 for those interested. The Metzlers are hard, I prefer the Dunlops but now I can go back to the Avon "sneakers". |

| Can't find any mention of a new Cobra tire on their website. Any idea where it might be?

| I just called them. The "new" tire was introduced back in June/July and can be identified with a 80H rating. They just now announced it because they wanted to make sure all the old stock was sold first. Only the rear has the triple compound makeup. The front is the same as it was. The part#s are:
Front 90000001167 SKU 4710012
Rear 90000001418 SKU 4700112
I checked on the tires I have and the part#s are the same so that confirms it.
He also said they toughened up the center section to try and get greater mileage out of the center section particularly on a Goldwing.

Posts: 83 Springfield Mo. | I'm about ready for new tires, but what is the load rating. On my Honda, I liked the Metzlers much better than the Dunlops. These are big bikes with big riders riding 2 up with gear. I think the Dunlops have a higher load rating than the others. |

There IS a 74H rated Avon 72 for our rears and I know because I bought one a bit by mistake but after riding it a bit, decided to keep it anyway as the price on it was simply TOO good ($165 shipped to my door so about $100 less than the 80H variant at the time).
Some may want to point out that the 74H has a lower load rating than comes stock on these XCs but the reality is that even the 74H is PLENTY of tire for me as I am not a heavy guy and rarely have a passenger and when I do, it's my 65lb 9 year old son. Even if my wife did join me, our combined weight would still not even be 350lbs so would still be under (the adjusted) capacity even with loaded saddlebags & a full trunk on the bike so it works for me but others may want to be cautious.

| The 74H has been succeeded with their new 80H multi compound Cobra rear. They started producing it back in July and just recently announced it once the old stock was gone. I got that from the horses mouth.

| I'll need a new rear tire in a few months and I'll go with the new Avon. |

Posts: 482 Beer Collins, Colorado (there is no fort) | I've had a Cobra on the rear since last September with around 3,000 miles on it now-so far it's doing everything well just have to see how far it can go. Cost a little under $200 from Jake Wilson.

| It would be really helpful if those running Cobras were to report back how many miles they get out of them as well as the pressure they normally run.

I didn't see where it said it would (or would not) be a dual compound. Personally, I think any tire manufacturer who doesn't offer a good set of dual compound tires for the touring bikes (at a reasonable price) is going to lose that market completely. |

| I just hit the wear bar on the rear today at 5325 miles. Not very good. On the other hand I had the pressure at Vic's recommended 38 psi and ran the crap out of it. I'll get one more 350 mile day ride out of it and fit a new one. I'm going to run the next rear at the Avon recommended 42 psi and see how that does. The front still has 4/32" left from a new depth of 6/32" so lots to go. They handled beautifully right up to the end and no noise. Its amazing the effect tires can have on a bike's handling. Of the three Vision's I've had none of them has gone around corners like this one does with Cobras installed. Amazing and well worth the extra cost to me.
