I need to bleed my brakes so I went to the local bike shop and asked what he would charge to bleed them for me. He said since it had ABS and if it was anything like the HD he'd need a digital brake bleeder thing a ma jigger so he couldn't do it. I went home and began looking thru my manual to see what it would take to bleed the brakes and no where does it say that you need any kind of special machine other than a brake bleeding pump. Did I read that right or am I wrong?

Use care the next time you bend over, sounds like the shop guy was either lazy or fearful of technology that is more modern than a bowling pin setter and you're liable to squeeze out some of the smoke he's inserted in a spot where the sun don't shine--

Easily done in your shop on your terms-order 5- SB8125 from Speed Bleeders and get a bottle of Motul 5.1 synthetic brake fluid-specially made for ABS & fully compatible with the existing system. It's so easy you'll kick yourself for ever giving money to someone else to do it.

I wounder why you need To.
I was at drug store and found a baby feeder that I bought to suck the break fluid out of the master cylinder. Pump the break lever or pedal hold the lever down or pedal open bleeder and close bleeder let lever or pedal up.
All auto stores sell strips so you can check your break fluid. Witch is good for around four to five years.
