My wife got me a used front end, forks with tripple trees , for christmas, but they have for 08 only written on the trees, I have an 09. The plan is to powdercoat the lowers, rebuild the forks, then sawp them out for the ones that are on now ( nothing wrong with the ones I have , just do not want the vision to be down while getting powder coat and fork rebuild) Soooo what is the difference between 08 and 09 ???? After the swap I was going to sell or trade the front end I take off ( I will be looking for break calipers next , I am going with the conquest red calipers) I might have to sell the 08 set if they will not fit.

Someone else may want to chyme in with verification but I read somewhere that the forks are interchangable. The differences are internal between the 08 and subsequent model years making the 08 more difficult to break down.

What you need to do is look for the letter M cast on the 09. If it is there then the 08 is a direct swap. If it is not there; then the 09 has KYB forks, and the tube is 1mm bigger then the 08

I think 08 is 43mm and 09 is 44mm
You should use the 08 trees and forks as one. Other then that no big difference. Check a parts book. You'll need new bearings and buy them from a bearing store you can get better ones at a cheaper price
