I just bought a used Garmin 1350 (for $25!!!). Now I need a bracket, RAM arm and the OEM Vision RAM ball mount. There are various places (including straight from RAM) to get the Garmin specific bracket ($10). The OEM Vision RAM ball mount in about $12 so I'm good there.

I have 3 questions. First, what size is the Vision RAM ball mount (part # 2877371)? I can only assume it's 1" as that seems to be the "normal" size. Second, is there any place that just sells the adjustable arm? I can only find the arm with various bottom mounts. Since I don't need the bottom mounts, I don't want to pay extra for that if I don't have to. Third, is the car/motorcycle power cord microUSB or is there something proprietary to Garmin? I plan to mount it to the right (brake) side of the bars so I'll need a power cord pretty long to get it back to the glove box. (Or is there a better way to wire it up? Permanent wiring is fine as long as I can keep water out of the plug if I don't have the GPS mounted.)

Thanks.

I don't see a way to edit my post so I'll just make another.

I finally found the separate arms on the RAM Mount site. Please, disregard that question.

www.gpscity.com has all the RAM pieces individually. They ship the same day as well.

Monkeyman - I have had good luck and enjoy the versatility of the Ram grip x mount. Available at Amazon and GPS city.

I've been searching on there for about an hour and can't find the individual parts, only the kits. What am I missing?

Here's the easy way. Search for individual part on the RAM site. They have it all in parts and kits. Then Google that exact part name to search for the best price, or search Amazon for the specific part by name.

Tim --- I'm hoping to find a similar wiring harness. Thanks for the links.

Max --- That's what I'm doing. Ideally, I'll order everything from the same vendor but if I have to use more than one, so be it.

Ordered everything from GPScity yesterday morning. Should be here tomorrow. My GPS arrived today. All I know is that it powers on. We'll see how well it works. (Of course, it's supposed to rain all weekend.)

I'll get a rain suit this winter so I'm ready for spring. April showers and all that crap. I might move to AZ.

I started out with the mid length straight mounting arm then decided it left the GPS too high. I ended up with the mid length arm that rotates in the middle. The arm is inline with the handlebars/controls/grips. Much better. I submitted a story (with pics) to GPSCity. I'm hoping for a T shirt (assuming they have one in extra fat).
