Posts: 117 Spring Hill, Tennessee | Nothing revolutionary, but I had an idea to use some LED light strips around the tail light assembly to enhance the performance of the rear lighting set-up. Also, the rear bulbs are now LED's as well. I like the way it turned out....thought I would share..... |

Used all Radiantz lights. More expensive than some, but the quality is well worth it in my opinion. They also have an online coupon code you can use to save a few dollars! |

Posts: 117 Spring Hill, Tennessee | The bulb is called the Z Tower bulb. The picture is deceiving because the Vision requires the 3157 connection end. The strips are called the Z Flex. I used the foot long clear with red LED's. Amazing difference as I hope you will all see soon in the video! |

The middle bulb is not blinking. I used LED strips and mounted them right beside the taillight housing. Tapped into the blinker bulb so it would only blink...not run constant. I figured I would have enough brightness with the replacement bulbs. I wanted to make sure I got your attention when I was turning and braking! |

Posts: 117 Spring Hill, Tennessee | Here is a picture of the LED Strips mounted around the rear housing. I simply sneaked the wiring in behind the housing as I was reinstalling. Mounted the light strips onto the "M" rear piece, but so close to the taillight housing you can hardly tell. |

I do not have a pic Pre-Install. I'm very sorry! I really didn't think this would be of to much interest to anyone. I was proud of it, so I shared, but most of you are way smarter about this stuff than I am! LOL. You guys teach me so much by ready your post!
You can see the lights from the Radiantz website if that will help at all?
www.radiantz.com
They are the Z Flex strips. |

Those bulbs are pricey! Are they not bright enough on their own that you needed to add the extra led strips? |

Posts: 117 Spring Hill, Tennessee | They are more expensive than most. No argument here! And they are some really bright light too! I was willing to spend the money for my Vision.
The brightness level is personal preference? I guess when people stop saying "I didn't see the motorcycle"......I'll also stop trying to make my Vision visible from space? |

I did some searching for the bulbs - found some on-line for $20 each. When I look at the diagram, there are 6 bulbs to replace = $120 + shipping/tax/etc. PRICEY !

Posts: 1229 Rancho Cucamonga, CA | A red LED will put its rated lumens out in the 630-670nm (red) wavelength . The taillight lens does not filter out any of this wavelength, so you see the entire amount of light that the bulb has to offer.
A white LED spreads its rated lumens out from 420-800nm wavelength. The taillight lens then filters out all but the red (630-670nm) reducing the lumen output to just that bandwidth.
You should always buy an LED in the color you want to see instead of using a filter to make it that color. You are losing most of the light a white LED emits to the filter(lens).

I am not aware of any bulbs, LED or standard, that will provide 3 outputs. You are asking for one that will be..
1. Low intensity RED (running lights)
2. High intensity RED (brake lights)
3. High intensity AMBER (turning/hazards)
If you want to give up the running lights, there are LEDs that change from RED to AMBER, but you would also have to rewire the harness for this to work. |

Look at my diagram. There are 4 lights for braking/running - you need 4 RED LED's. And 2 AMBER - so 2 AMBER LED's. The lights are available in RED, AMBER and WHITE. |

Posts: 1229 Rancho Cucamonga, CA | What it sounds like Adolfoch is asking for, is a bulb for the upper position that will flash amber when turning and red when braking. Any bulb that can do that would not be able to be a running light as well and would also need the harness to be rewired to add a braking circuit to the upper bulbs.
For anyone looking for the brightest LEDs on the market (pricey) Autolumination.com now has a 22w LED 3157 bulb.
