Hey, all. My G/F and I met my folks at the summit of Chinook pass today, and with temps in the low 90's the snow on top was welcome. Just a short way down, I shot this video:

The ride is one spectacular sight after another, and the road twists, and turns with switchbacks, and drop offs and those great 20 MPH corners..... Anyway, a fun time was had, and it was good to play in the snow today! -----Metalguy

Well, crap. It shows up for me at work, but photobucket is blocked here...so I cannot get to it to see. I will have to fix it after work tonite, sorry... Breaker, what happened to your bike???? Mine is going in for the 7500 mile service tonite, and I am going to see if they will warranty out the iPod cord while they are at it. They gave me guff over it on Friday when I was there....grrr. If they will not swap out the faulty cord, I will butcher up one of my iPod cords for my computer hook up, and see about using that. -----Metalguy

I'd like to see it too. Craig and I are planning a 2-week road trip to Washington/Oregon area in August. Try posting to YouTube!

What part of Washington is Chinook Pass in? I plan on traveling thru the eastern part of Washington on my way up into BC Canada in August.

Here you go Crawford. The wife and I ride this route constantly. 3 times last week.

If you and Fergy do hit this route let me know. The end town of "Enumclaw" is where I live, and Tacoma where Metalguy resides is just a stone's throw away. And. . .Innkeeper is from Puyallup I think - just down the road. *scratching my head* There are a few others close by as well.

I think we just found an excuse for a meet and greet!

I would love to meet up, if/when any Vision rider comes around. Breaker, I love that route, also. I grew up in Yakima, and there are some really fun rides out there, too! ------Metalguy

That looks absolutely gorgeous! I live in really flat country (even though they call this a valley...), so I am a tad jealous. What was the temp when you took that video? That snow looks too cold for this ol' southern boy to ride in. Brrrr.

The high that day was 94 degrees, believe it or not! The video was taken right up near the summit, where there is still quite a bit of snow. The breeze off of the snow was SO nice! Up on top the temp was in the low 80's. It was quite hot for us this time of year. Better than where I was last summer, where the temps stayed around 120 most days (Camp Taji, Iraq) I will not be complaining about our weather!-----Metalguy
