Posts: 83 Springfield Mo. | Been driving to Maine via Niagara Falls the last couple of days and so far on this 1500 mile trip, I've seen only 1 Victory Vision and have seen 9 Can Am Spyder tours. Never would have expected that ratio. I guess I started keeping score after seeing 6 Can Ams before my first Vis. Wierd. |

I don't get the point of your post, can ams are for the yuppies and those who want to ride 3-wheel road ATVs. |

lol A little strong on the response - but I agree!
Anyone can ride a Spyder. My understanding is that it doesn't take any special training or skill to operate one and you can earn a MC license on one. As such, nearly anyone and everyone can ride one.
My guess is that if you took most Spyder riders and asked them to ride a 2-wheeler, they would be challenged by it.
That being said, I still wave to them. |

| We sold the wife's Yamaha V-Star 1100 last year and we picked her up a new Spyder this spring. She loves it and enjoys riding again.
When you see us on the road you will get 1 Vision and 1 Spyder.

Ride one lightly agressive and you might change your mind. the thing is well balanced and just like a good sports car you can very EASILY control the direction it goes with throttle input. High revving and plenty of gumption out of almost 1000cc's. If I get a chance I will own one of the little rocket ships to go right along with my big rocket ship. The little sporty one not the tour one.
I need to go look and see what the times are being put down in the 1320.
Ya know for a guy who likes to advocate riding and it don't matter what it is you ride, seems you'd be the first to step up and wave and talk bikes. When the time comes to find a trike, I'll be looking at one of those. This little bit was for VahoneryRider. |

Several google searches show 1/4 mile times ranging from 14.1 seconds to the OMG staggering 17.5 seconds (@87mph) reported by Motorcycle USA. I would hardly refer to that as even a little rocket ship. Just sayin'.... |

Posts: 2027 Brighton, TN | It is one of those you have to learn its power band. The thing doesn't get motivated till around 5k, if I remember correctly. That thing has got to be dang near as quick as a vision. It almost has a two stroke powerband, just lugs along till 5k, then slaps you back quite abrutly like it is on the pipe. I have to ride one again. I can't imagine that thing putting down 17.5. Somebody lost their MAN Card that day.

Posts: 1632 Jasper, MO | A look at the 2011 Can-Am RS(the sporty one) website specs shows a dry weight of 699 pounds, HP 106@8500 RPM, TQ 77@6250 RPM, and a listed top speed of 110 MPH.
The 2011 Can-Am RT (touring version) shows a dry weight of 929 pounds, HP of 100 @7500 RPM, TQ of 80 @ 5000 RPM, and no top speed listed.
Motorcycle USA did a three way comparison of the touring flagships from Honda, BMW, and Can-Am. The Can-Am ran a quarter mile of 17.50 @ 86.96 MPH. the Goldwing ran 14.11 @ 105.60, and the BMW ran 12.65 @ 118.30 http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/831/10937/Motorcycle-Article/2011-Can...
I know from past experience that the older Goldwings ran quicker quarter mile times in the high 12s to low 13's. Honda changed the ECU mapping on the newer ones to address overheating problems and they're slower. There are lots of Visions and Victory Cross Country Tour bikes (comparing touring bikes to touring bikes) running high to mid 12s.
They're probably fun, but I don't think anybody on a Victory, Honda, or BMW touring bike needs to worry about getting passed by one if the bike pilot doesn't want them to.

If Visions were as common as Harleys, we wouldn't get noticed either. It seems the only way they get noticed is to throw some ear-drum shattering pipes on it and rev it up every two seconds or so. I don't want that.
I kinda like all the attention I get at the gas stations. And it's just because people can't get over its looks!

True. But then I would just pass you again so you could catch me in another 200 miles. We could play tag for 1500 to 1700 miles (the range of the W900).

| Glad to hear there are Visions somewhere. I just took a 3K round trip from Illinois to San Antonio over 2 and a half weeks and not only didn't see another Vision --- I didn't see another Victory. I must admit that with all the CC media and push I wonder of Victory is abandoning great rides like the Vision or even the Kingpin.

The Kingpin is history.
Is that your opinion or did I miss an announcement? I hope it's not history. The Kingpin -- especially the 8-Ball is
hard to beat for a general around town cruiser. Like the Vision, it just fit right. I liked the way it handled a lot better than the Vegas. But then again, if it does go the way of the Dodo, the prices on the used ones should drop. |

Sonny will also be releasing the movie in the fall "Dead in 5 Heartbeats" based on Sonny's life, of real accounts during his life, with the lead character riding a Hardball as well as 5 other Victorys also appearing, but no Vision. |
