Stopped at a light and a Kaw concours encroached my space but as he did he was saying, "man, that's a nice bike."  But what he says next blows me away... "that's the only bike being made in the usa."  Thinking it was just a rhetorical statement I hesitated to say something, but then said, "harley is still made in the usa."  Which he says, "It is?"  (of course I forgot to mention Indian, but stop-light conversations are worse than elevator conversations.)  Though he lives under a rock and rides a Kaw, I thought it was a cool conversation.

Cool deal.
Today on the way home from work on the Vision I stopped in the Triumph dealer to see what's what. The Kid at the counter was looking out the window at the Vision and asked it that was the new BMW. Nah... lol

Last summer while riding through the rockies we stopped at a sight seeing spot when an old fella from Germany came to take a gander. He says "we in Germany are very proud to be ahead of every one else in engineering, but I have never seen such an example of fine engineering on a bike"
Then the usual question of "do you mind if I take a picture?"

Vision ary - I had a similar thing happen in San Francisco. My brother has a very nice looking HD ultra classic. Custom paint lots of chrome. We were at a vista point looking over the bay. Bus load of Japanese tourists off load. Several come over and look at our bikes side by side. They motion is it ok to take pixs? I say sure. They took pixs just of the Vision. Lol

Was the guy on the Kaw trying to be sarcastic?

no, I don't believe so, he was really admiring the bike, shook my hand and told me to ride safe.

Just the other day, I had just come out of a store on a main downtown Pittsburgh street. As I was mounting up, a car load of young African Americans pulled up next to me. They were in an older Oldsmobile Cutlass low rider blasting their thumping rap music. They turned the music down and asked if they could check out the bike. They admired it for a while took some photos with their cell phones and went along their way.

So amoung everything else I can now say that my Vision even helps quit the noise pollution.

This is almost a daily event for me. Seems everywhere I ride there is someone who wants to know something about my Vision, very polite and sincere. A little Q&A usually follows then an explanation of what they ride or experiences they have had, then wish each other good luck, ride safe and it's off to another destination. I have had people look me up in resturants asking me what that is. I am use to it by now. I am sure there are many stories like this one out there too.
