Belt Tension

daveinmaryland Posted 2012-08-06 9:08 AM (#120997) Subject: Belt Tension Puddle Jumper Posts: 27 Lusby, MD On occasion, seems like when the bike is hot from riding, the bike "squeels" a bit when I release the clutch, in a bigger load situation (two up, or on an incline). So, using the $60.00 service manual for my 08 VV Tour Premium, I did the belt tension check, and it was right on (1 1/4" +/- 1/16"). However, in reviewing the riders manual, it states that the belt tension, measured the identical way, after break in should be half this number (15/32" +/- 1/64"). Any suggestions? It is now 32 mm +/- .5mm (1 1/4" +/- 1/64) with 10 lb force.
