This is one of those sharing post, one about my ride to work this morning.  It's a given we all like to ride, therefore we exist. This morning I'm riding in and decided to take one of the primary routes instead of interstate to start out.  I get behind a sports biker and immediately recognize it is a lady rider.  I surmise she's probably in her early twenties, but have no way to really tell with her full-face helmet on.  I'm a vehicle behind her through traffic and at the lights.  I do notice also she has a MSF sticker on her helmet.  I think to myself, "good girl, you're starting out right!"  Instead of doing my normal full-throttle ride I decide to hang with her and get behind her as we are getting onto the interstate.  I've already observed her using hand and arm signals along with the lights, and she rolls with the flow of traffic and not at the posted speed limit.  On the interstate approach she does her check twice with her turn signal on, then using her arm signal, pointing to the lane she is going to.  I stay behind her and ride in the opposite track.  Later up the road we need to get on another express route and she signals, I move with her and I change track, and she takes the opposite track.  I'm thinking "this girl has paid attention."  I know a lot of "bikers" that do not understand the riding in group concept and will screw up lane changes and ride patterns in a heart beat.  Here, this girl, persumeably young, fresh out of the basic course, has it down pat.  I follow her on and when I get close to my exit, I move away to the outside lane, but now she comes in behind me and rides in the proper position.  She does lag back a little, but none the less she is on it.  Finally, I have to exit, we exchange waves, in a bid of "ride safe".   Very refreshing to see those who are into riding seriously.

Ride hard, ride long, ride safe!

By the way. When we were on the inside line, she rode the left track, when we changed up, and went to the outside lane, I took the left track to put her close to the shoulder. Had she kept the left track, I would have moved to the right. I just felt I needed to keep her off the track next to the traffic.

Way to go Grandpa! I normally try to hang with other folks thinking the more there are of us, the more we can be seen. But most don't get the idea and zoom through traffic, cuz, they gots somewherz to be!

A young 20 something hottie on a crotch rocket and you only rode behind her, because you were impressed and felt a need to protect! YEAH RIGHT! I have seen a few twentysomethinghotties riding and I don't remember following due to their skill.

Now, now, don't blow my cover, and we'll be just fine. On the serious side, yes, I was impressed. The thing about her doing everything right, she was moving with the flow of traffic, in the fast lane. Yet, she never did anything radical beyond that, everthing, everytime, was by the book. That really did impress me. And yeah, I'm probably old enough to be her old dad, maybe, it could have been a old woman for all I know. But I figured the other from the way she wore her jeans.

I have seen some nice fittin jeans on 50 + women haulin their ass on a bike. Just be ready for a 50% +/- surprise when they take off the helmet. Some are bitchin and some are not but that's all in the eye of the beholder... Everybody is beautiful in there own way......

And to circle back around before Po'boy got us off track on little hotties, I felt it was refreshing to see someone taking motorcycle seriously and cautiously. I see a lot of, and I'm sure all of do, wanna-be bikers who can't ride together, or manuever through the traffic properly. A continual reminder to all of us to be able to ride again. I no longer ride defensively, but offensively. It has made riding much more pleasureable because I will not ride reactively, rather proactively, to maximize my enjoyment and survival. This employees all of the things we should know when it comes to riding.
