| Hi guys. JoAnn here. I would like your opinion about the two styles of passenger armrests. I have always had the kind that swing out, and because they swing out, if something were to go wrong, being thrown from the bike is effortless and inevitable. The other style where the armrests swing up would not allow for an automatic and immediate release from the bike. In your opinion, does this matter? Which would be safer?
I'd appreciate your feedback. |

You know the Vision product is a Kuryakyn design, much like the Wing, marketed and sold by Victory and swings out. Unless you're going to spend the time like Thomas did to custom fabricate something, there is no swing up. 2 styles don't come in to play for our bikes. Simple as that or else get to fabricating cause there's nothing produced for sale by anyone else at this point and time. It's Victory or home made. The VIC one is easy on/easy off. In my opinion, any of them I've seen are ugly, but my passenger loves the comfort of the Victory armrests w/ the built in cupholder. |

Posts: 215 W'ford Tx | I bought a set of the Victory arm rest before my wife and I took a few hundred mile trip. She absolutely loved them. I think they'd be easier that the ones that flip up for her to get on and off of. Also the victory ones fold in and out of the way completely when riding solo. |

| Well Joanne I bought the ones from Vic as at that time it WAS the only one out there at that time. My wife likes them and she has never felt unsafe. ALL SHE REALLY WANTED WAS A COKE /COFFEE HOLDER AND AN ARMREST . So this was her present from me to her after all I used my retirement to by my toy,so I did want to giveher something that she wanted too! After I had told her the cost she wanted to return them,I told it was too late they wouldn't take them back after they where installed. I don't think you'll be unhappy with either one, good luck ! |

Honestly in an accident situation the forces are so great that neither would be able to hold back an adult they would simply bend or break away. If anything the swing out ones, well swing out for easy ingress/egress. |
