I saw on facebook today where Victory gave a teaser about the 2013 models. in this there was a part that talked about the Visions oil change. Look Below.. on my 08 & 11 Vision 4.5 Qts gave me a Full level on the dipstick when the bike sits upright.

Like all Victory models, these Touring models deliver outstanding RELIABILITY to minimize the cost of ownership. Instead of spending big bucks on oil changes or frequent maintenance, a Touring rider can direct the bike budget toward accessories and travel. The engine and transmission share 5 quarts of oil, so oil changes are simple: Drain, add a new filter, refill with oil and ride. There are no additional oil reservoirs to tend to. Plus, the recommended oil change interval is every 5,000 miles, which is a lot of riding between oil changes.

Can I now take my 08 for 5000 mile rides and not jeopardize my lifetime engine warranty? BTW I do get my oil in the 5 quart jug now, is it safe to put in all 5 quarts?

That's pretty damned pitiful; harking upon savings with "extended" oil changes -vs- accessories and gear to buy.. Is Victory's Sales/Advertising department(s) eating a Big Bowl of STUPID ?

When they changed the transmissions gears thats when they went from 2500-5000 oil change intervals.

gents, gents, gents. Keep in mind 5qts is the capacity, at oil change it will only take 4.5 quarts. You'll still oil in various places to include the oil cooler. Overfilling your oil is far worse than running low. It is also standard practice across the auto industry to extend the oil change interval since oil have "improved" and the consumer caught on. They just can't anything from us "smart ones".

Ladies, ladies, ladies. Keep in mind 5qts is the capacity in the U.S.A.
In Kanada, that is 4.73176 Litres which is MUCH more difficult to measure.
So just be thankful, 'eh?

I hate to tell you this, Jim. Your 'qrt' is really a 'litre'.  4 Litres = 4 1/2 US Quarts. Take a close look at the container - gotta be 1 L

Jim:  same with mine, I put a little oil (maybe a cup) in the new Polaris Oil Filter, screw it on, add 4 quarts of Victory Oil and dipstick shows spot on level.  I don't add the other 1/2 qt for fear of overfilling.   I do have the aftermarket oil temp gauge and it rarely runs past 250.

folks, you either need to pre-load the oil filter or run the bike for a bit and then recheck the oil. I use the Lucas from O'Really's and they are quart containers. I always put in four and half quarts. Also, depends on your lean, you may not be draining out all the oil. I will upright it for a moment to get any oil that might be puddled to the side. That creates a momentary stream after it has been dripping for a while. (now I need to go check my Lucas oil bottle...)

I know this sounds picky to some but my Vision, Cross Roads, and Cross Country Tour ALL take 4 1/4 quarts and no more. I asked a buddy of mine how much his CC took and he's at 4 1/4 quarts too. We both use the WIX filter which might make a slight difference......

I have always put in 4 1/2 quarts with a filter change and the oil level comes to the top line on the dipstick with bike upright.
