| I can never understand why someone would want to put loud pipes on a TOURING bike, I mean, to ride for hours on end with the drone of loud pipes is not fun and I speak from experience having owned a Honda VTX1800 with Vance & Hines Big Shots (the loudest combination recorded according to MCN) with no baffles and then with performance baffles, and finally their quiet baffles with ceramic tape packing.
Don't get me wrong here, stock is definitely a little too quiet, but the sound from either the Ness Big Honkers or Victory's S1/L2 are about as loud as I would get with a touring bike. I personally went with the Victory S1/L1 so that I could keep using my jet tips. |

| I don't know how loud you want to go but the s1l2 pipes are nice and they sound even better after about 10k miles. Any louder and they fight the radio. |

+1 - But I did it with S1L2 pipes. Just pulled out the baffles.

Posts: 111 Salina, KS | I have the 2 1/4" Atom Bombs and they produce a nice throaty sound and bark when provoked. I have the radio volume at the same level I had it with stock pipes and myself and passenger can still hear it just fine. $250 is hard to beat! |

| One thing I enjoy with the non factory muffler is the constant throaty sound on the super slab. that is what a v-twin should sound like |

Posts: 259 Land O Lakes, FL | i Took a 1" hole saw and drilled the baffle plate out and then drilled some holes around the end of the muffler 1/2" to be exact about 6 of them. Sounds fantastic and it was cheap...
I should also note that i have the 6 shooter tips so you don't see anything I drilled...
