We finally got some summer here in BC, so was riding yesterday, on what was the hottest day of the year.
I stopped at a local watering hole for lunch, and when I came out the temp reading on the bike read 38C., Or about 100F. Took off and not too far down the road, the lighted badge on the right side, simply fell off. So as I am travelling at highway speed, the wires holding the badge allowed it to flail all over the place.
This was the side that was facing south, so the heat melted the tiny little spots of glue holding it on.
Really surprised, at the little bit holding it on.
Has anyone else had this happen?

Mine are held on with 2 screws not glue.....maybe your year model had lighted badges as an upgrade option and whoever put them on didn't want to remove all of the bodywork necessary to do it correctly ....?

Same thing happened to me a couple months ago. I superglued it back on.

I must be screwed. 113 degrees in OK last year and over 100 degrees on our 7 day trip last year and both are still on.
I do have one out. Hoping to find someone to get an old one from so my senior electronics engineer at work can figure out a fix before I break it down.

Laredo, just curious. Did just the thin "badge" come off, or did the entire piece including the "platform" behind it come off also (by platform I mean the 1/4" black plastic between the actual badge and the fairing)

A rider in my group had this happen also. Dealer super glued it back on and a short time later if fell off again this time it broke the wires and hit the pavement . After some discussion the dealer ordered a new one. This is on a 2012 .

Mine is screwed on. I started to remove it once to see if I could change the image. After about 30 minutes I figured out how it fastened on and realized it would take another hour to complete both sides. I gave up. I cannot see how it would just fall off. Did the screws come loose on their own?
