Ok...I know this is an odd problem...but here goes! 2011 Vision Tour

About 10 days ago I notice the cruise light on the dash (green cruise indicator)starting to flicker after about 10 mins of riding. Cruise is off and not engaged. Everything on the bike works as normal including the cruise.

After trying to determine some sort of pattern this is what I have came up with.

- after 10 mins of riding, light will start to flicker lightly until in get brighter and sometimes just stays on
- if I lift my rear end from the seat (while riding) the cruise dash light will immediately go off
- at times, the light will be on when start the bike and stay on, but again....if i stand up and take pressure off of the seat it goes away.
- does not matter if cruise is set to on or off.
- alot of time the light will go off when letting off the throttle...but again, a slight amount of pressure is off the seat...sliding forward.
- I first noticed the whole sitting down thing, when I would put the bike on side stand and it would go off...then when bring it back up when sitting on it...it would come back on.

Is it possible that the heated seats are shorting and back feeding a signal to the cruise module? Are the grounding point similar? When I get home today, I am going to unplug the heated seats and go for a ride.

Let me just say.....WTH!!! Any words of wisdom appreciated. Dealer is taking it in on Monday...not sure they will be able to track this one down easily.

Thanks in advance.

Pull the seat and unplug it. If you don't know how, pop the panel in front of the seat by opening the glove box & lifting it up. Remove the 2 screws at the front of the seat-my 09 is 4mm allen head. Slide the seat ahead a little and lift the left side to access the heater connector. It's a plastic weather pack connector-just lift the plastic locking tab & pull apart. See if any wires appear chafed under there and try it with the heater unplugged. Shorted heater should just blow the fuse.

Do you have abs
I'm thinking you have pinched wire on the right side of the bike under the seat.

Pulled the seat...moved a few of the harnesses around and saw the light blink on. Pulled the cruise harness apart and reset back in its place.
Took a short ride and no light. Time will tell i guess. Maybe be resetting the cruise and harness did the trick.

Yes i have abs.

Cruise harness was directly under the sensitive part of the seat. Pinched wire or smashed connector may be to blame. No bare wire though.
