| For some reason after twenty pulls on the clutch my hand gets do soar I can't get home. I changed the fluid in the clutch I pulled off the lever and cleaned and re greased the lever and put it back. New fluid and bleed the cylinder and lube the pivot. I read the E-Z pull is not good and they don't make it for a vision. Still can't pull it very long was thinking maybe a wide lever but can't find one. Any ideas |

Central Maryland | Don't use the clutch when shifting up at speed. Use it to only shift down, and when taking off.
Do some hand exercises to strengthen your tendons and muscles. |

New Bohemia, VA | I wish I knew more about your situation. Do you have physical limitations, or is the clutch pull just hard? A wider lever won't help unless your have pressure when you pull. If it is physical, sometimes we just have to admit those things and move on. I'm facing a possible limitation so I hope to get in all the riding I can before it shuts me down. That is just life. |

Land O Lakes, FL | I barely pull the clutch on upshifts, which helps, but you can upshift if you "blip" the throttle and shift up pretty easily. Works well and easy on the hands. As mentioned do some hand exercises with one of those grip strengtheners. Just throughout the day do some 5 min exercises with it to help your grip. Also take some Aspirin or Advil or something before you ride to keep the inflammation down and catch the pain before it happens. Some thoughts anyway... Good Luck and hope it gets better! |

| I have never had pain in my fingers before and clutches have never been a problem. Not sure why my fingers have started to hurt and I can't tell if its the bones or the mussels. Sitting on the bike today playing with the clutch I saw that I squeeze the lever just below my middle knuckles. So I cut a peace of rubber hose sliced it down the middle and zip tied it to the lever. Now I have the end of my fingers just on the lever and it feels better well for the short trip I did.
I did see where that guy bent his lever don't remember how he did it but that might help. |

Taylorsville, KY | You might try riding with your wrist rolled back and just using your fingertips of one or two fingers to use the clutch once you get moving. If you're not having trouble with your right hand think about how you are holding your hands differently or take a ride and pay attention to how you are positioning them both. I developed carpal tunnel in my left hand from pretty much locking my left hand in one position while riding long distance for over 20 years. |

Mt. Vernon, WASH. | I've seen compound clutch and brake levers in J&M's catalog for women and folks with smaller hands but I think they were in their Milwaukee Middle Buster specific book.

Rockford, IL | They make an EZ Pull for the Vision. A couple of folks have posted here that they have them installed. Haven't heard of any issues or anything with them. Where did you read that the EZ Pull isn't good? |

| I have an EZ pull on my 08 vision,I have arthritis in my hands. no issues at all.if you order one tell them the year of your bike.

Land O Lakes, FL | Also after your initial start you only have to pull the clutch cable just the tinniest bit to make a nice clean up shift. I've seen where some people do a full pull on every shift. That would get old after a while. I blip the clutch and shift and it's nice and smooth... |

Not to worry, as he generally begins to exercise them again when the bloom is off the rose, getting his strength back...Seriously, though, go see a chiropractor. If this is a new phenomenon. it could stem from your neck.

Georgia, west of Atlanta | Heres something that happened to me once, had a compression nerve injury to my elbow and it made my left ( clutch ) hand weak in the little finger, healed up on it's own in about a month. was scary feeling though. I hope what ever is ailing you gets better soon....... |

New Bohemia, VA | As a word or caution JohnnyVision, I hope you'll see a doctor just to be sure there is no neuro thing going on. I'm speaking from experience, but I don't know if it is caused by my riding posture or something entirely different. Been through more test than you can shake a stick at but the docs can't find what has caused irreversible damage. However, I can still pull the clutch with the best of them, thankfully.

Rhode Island | It states on the VictoryOnly.com website: "The E-Z Clutch will fit but we do not recommend using the kit on Hydraulic systems.... Us at own risk."
The only issue I can think of would be the slight change in angle caused by the E-Z Assist. On the hydraulic systems you have a slave cylinder with a stiff rod as oppose to a cable which may result in more side force on the slave cylinder assembly and seals. The Vision service manual says to be careful not to bend the pull rod. I wonder if the mounting angle of the slave cylinder can be changed to match the new location of the E-Z Assist clutch pinion shaft.
I too develop pain and cramping on long rides with lots of stop & go traffic and regularly do hand exercises to strengthen my tendons/muscles. So I would be interested if others have installed an E-Z Assist on a hydraulic clutch and if they've experienced any service issue related to it's installation.

| Scared of the E-z pull. Am looking into a different clutch spring. My dealer says no cause of torque. Harley's can produces big torque and run the same style clutch spring. At most it will be spring primary gasket an oil. I can do my owen work.

| Did you ever seek out Chiropractic care? I saw a schematic once, and the C6 and C7 nerve roots serve the areas and motions you describe. Like a kinked hose, impulses can become attenuated with misalignment or other pressure on nerves. |
