anyone else have a loud chirp sound on the tranny drive of the belt. Happenned to me twice, last couple times, with clutch engaged. Right when I start out, about a 1/2 mile, than goes away. Condenstaion? Obviously when it gets warm it goes away. Doesn't sound like an belt alignment issue, just a loud chirp, right near my right foot. I know if I take in, they wont here anything 'cause it will already be driven and sound won't be there. Maybe I'll turn the radio up. I'll keep ya posted.

Yes had the chirp. Mine kept getting worse. Had to adjust the alignment.

Wouldn't the chirp stay (be constant) if it was an alignment/adjustment issue? Never had one prior to 2000 miles.

One would think, but it didn't on mine. FYI, mine started around 1500 to 2000 and got so bad I couldn't stand it. Started as the occassional squeak to almost a constant noise. Mine would get progressively worse. Betcha cash if you get down and look at the rear pulley from behind the bike you will see the belt is riding very close to the right side. I don't know exactly if the chirp is from the front or rear pulley, but there is enough play for it to press against one of those pulleys and give the squeak. You can tighten it a little bit and that removed it for me for about another 2000-2500 miles. Then back under you go. I sorta followed the service manual and finally got the belt to move off of the right side. Never could get it like the book says. But I got it far enough off of the right side, that 5000 + miles after adjustment and no need to revisit for a squeak. Thank goodness, cause the mouse was starting to irritate the nerve endings.

Your welcome and check back in at 5:00pm for the showing of how to irritate, prod, use the electric cattle prod on the guy who aligned my belt and just because bring the engineer who told him how to do it. I say its a two for one deal.

If you need directions on how to do it. I have posted on this site on how I actually did it and the service manual has it in their too. I believe the owner's manual does a decent job of explaining also.

Yesterday we went riding to look at all the flooded areas. When we left our last stop I noticed squeak.
It started once we hit highway speeds.
Sounded forward on the bike.
Not very loud, just odd.
Drove me crazy so I turned the radio up.

Maybe belt alignment at 3,100 miles?

Taking a short ride today. We'll see if it's still there.

victory 2002, I believe Victory started using Kevlar in the belts in 2006 when they went to 100 cu in. motors. That maybe why your C & TC don't have an issue. My 04 Kingpin never had the problem. On some of the other Victory forums there is discussion about belt squeal or chirping and some has to do with tension/alignment, but there is some on rear pully warp. One forum stated the pulley needs replaced if there is .080" run out. I also did the Alignment/Tension procedure from the service manual and all is good now.

Ok I don't have a chirp or a squeak.
Sounds like bell ringing.
It sounds like someone put one of them motorcycle gremlins on my bike and it has a small bell in it.

It's up front and it starts at about 50mph, or sooner with a head wind. Rings when I am on a rough road also.
Darn if I can find it, but something is loose.

I'll find it sooner or later.

Mine only chirps occasionally when it gets really wet, usually just from washing. I've ridden in light and very heavy rain several times and never noticed it then.
