I just cant stand the pain the stock handle bars give me being so close to me. My arms are think Mc Goilla gorilla long are just too cramped up. Victory sell bars that are 2 inches further away for a small fortune which I believe the goofy shape ones but If you get the ness style bars they are I'm told round according the the pictures, and 2 to 3 inches further away and like a 1 inch higher.

Does any body have these or know anything about them. I gotta do something as riding the bike is no longer enjoyable.

Any other suppliers out there??? and are all the vision bars interchangable??

Eric

You could cut yours put a slug in the middle for strength and re weld them and now you would have what you want

I put the Ness forward bars on my '08 Vision this year. At 6'3", with 36" sleeve, I really like the new position. The reach is comfortable and lets me lean forward ever so slightly for a more agressive "up on the bars" feel. The feedback when cornering seems much more precise to me, plus I like the traditional round bar style. Installation was a breeze and the quality is top notch. Hope this info helps.

Puddle Jumper, have been thinking of just doing what your picture suggests and am looking at ape hanger style handle bars. Are these on your bike or just a picture you snapped. Who makes such handle bars? I rode the hard ball and high ball at victory demo days and came away with a different opinion of the ride position and actually thought of doping apes on my vision. I would prefer not to cut my factory bars that came with the bike incase of future resell. I really appreciate thye picture. Eric

Remember ape hangers are for strong guys. With 800 plus pound bike you have to be strong and the higher the bars the less strength you have in a bad situation.

Eric, I had my bars custom made for me. I found a place locally that makes custom bars talked to him about what I wanted,he had no clue at first but said if I could give him a pattern he could make them. So a 12 pack later with the help of a little hand saw, tape and 1" wood dowel I had a pattern perfect to what I wanted. This is an easy conversion really if you are creative and able to turn a wrench. Anyone wanting info on doing this call me 651-248-4668 my whole project was done for around $345 dollars and uses all stock length handle bar cables and lines.

RC how do those bars effect your handling? Did you have heated grips before? Are you saying you could get us the exact bars like yours for $345?

Hi Eric,
I have put the 2" forward Ness black bars on my Ness vision and love em. At 6'4" the originals were too far back. I think I got them off Ebay at about 120... But that may have been. Fluke. Sold my old bars for about the same. Problem solved. I think the apes look bad ass but for long trips think they could be tough. I just rode a few hundred miles this weekend ( VOG) and demo days in London ontario.. Nice time, good group!

Have been doing alot of looking on the web and can only find the factory 2 inch ahead bars and have found premade ape hangers from ness and another company. I will have to do some calling to see if the clutch hoses and the front brake hose have to be modified, if so that can add considerable cost to this modification that I have to do. Went to the dealer saturday to get the adapter for the 12 volt plug, my bike has the small plug port that my gps would not plug in to and I looked through their catalogues and they can only offer me the 2 inch bars and thats it. I realy need like the grips to go 5 to 6 inches ahead. I really dont need the grips to go up, just ahead.

This week end I the harley rendezvous for any body near schenectady and i will hit the swap meet area and see if there are any bars that I could fabricate to fit. I'm real handy welding and fabricating and If I do make anything I will take pics and post them. I would rather waste $50.00 on something that didnt work for me instead of $350.00. I just cant get over some of the prices of handle bars in general. All they are, are just bent pieces of pipe but if you want them and they have them.....$$$$$$$$

My big concern of this project is safety and strenght. We all grab the bars to pull up the bike after it has been dropped by accident of on purpose to work on it and to have the bars tweek and or bend just cant happen as you would imagine
