Posts: 249 Phenix City AL. | I am to see how many of you camp wile on a victory or any other MC. I just picked up a kompact kamp camping trailer, I am just curious of how many camp, what do you use, IE camper/ tent what equipment you take with you, cool places to camp. It would be cool if all the campers can meet at the AVR or something and have a camp out party. |

Posts: 307 Columbia, SC | Not me. I'm too citified. Although i AM considering a travel trailer pulled with my truck. But it must have a full bathroom, tv, locked doors, and hard sides all the way around. Then i'll go "camping". :D

Posts: 215 W'ford Tx | I would love to with the Vision. I've seen several bike trailers that convert to a small tent like thingy. I just can't justify buying one right now. My wife and I would love it but we have a 3 yo and a 5 yo and as you know the vision only seats 2. From having to set up weekend stays (both our parents are out of the picture) with friends it just isn't cost effective. We're really big into weekend get aways with all of us though. Wonder if I can mount a 5th wheel on the vision and pull a full sized camper..... |

Posts: 395 Moravia, IA | Ive got a Kwik Kamp.....only used it a handfull of times but its great. I can set it up myself in just under 2 mins (yep, I timed it). You can get to the storage area from inside the camper as well as from the outside when its packed up.

Posts: 57 Kansas City, MO | Getting ready for my first time camping on the Vision; I'm set to be near Leadville, CO the last week of June. Only 2 weeks away, so I'm stoked!
I've got the Hitch Doc installed, and wiring is "mostly" finished. I will be pulling a 2006 Aspen Classic I picked up off of eBay last yeear.
To say I'm excited is really understating it!
I've camped before on my MeanStreak (and years before that on my old NightHawk 700) using a tent, but like I said, this will be my first time pulling a camper trailer.

Posts: 374 Tucson, AZ | Just a Kelty tent and air mattress strapped on the luggage rack. I like to ride a little crazy at times to pull a trailer. I did look at them, but realized that for me a tent is a tent, whether its on a trailer or the ground. The single air mattress is as comfortable as my own bed, so......Leaving on Saturday for a 2.5 week ride through Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana, then back to Arizona. Will do an oil change on the road somewhere, theres always somebody in a small town cafe that lets us use their place to do it.

| mkultra and Arkainzeye - specifically what model tents do you use? If you were to buy one now what would you do differently? |

Posts: 482 Beer Collins, Colorado (there is no fort) | If I were so inclined to go camping on a motorcycle I would be looking at some of the new tents with "air beams" -no long tent poles -the two person Nemo Morpho can pack down to a 14"x 7", 5 1/2 lb bundle the one person's even smaller.

Posts: 374 Tucson, AZ | I have a Kelty Grand Mesa II. Its big enough for for a single air mattress and has served me well. Its mesh on the upper part, with a rain fly that covers the whole tent. The tent and mattress and tarp all fit on the luggage rack. It says 2 person, but you had better be real friendly with that person. I ride alone so its perfect for one person.

They are not cheap but it looks like an elegant solution. Thanks. |

Just to say it again - THEY'RE NOT CHEAP - How about $489 + s&h for the "2 person" Morpho? I can stay a lotta nights in motels for that much moola and have a bed all to myself while "MAMA" has her own bed.
Remember the prime directive - "If Mama ain't happy, noboby's happy" or "Happy wife, happy life" |

Posts: 51 Edmonton AB, Canada | I've been caming for years on bikes including the Vision.
I use a ground sheet and a tarp rather than a tent though, you can set them up in many more ways and get more gear and people under them.
My son and I can go for a weekend with bags air mattresses tarp stove food clothes, everything all packed and nothing strapped on the bike.
The bet bike camping gear is at backpacking shops. |

| Although I don't tow anything, for the sake of polling, I go camping with my Vision every chance I get. I carry a Tarptent, Big Agnes sleeping bag and pad, etc. Just came back from several days in Tellico Plains, TN. |

| I been using a Explorer Deluxe Hennessy Hammock (camping Hammock) for a couple of years. It packs light and does not take up much room. You can also pitch it as a tent, if there are no trees around.

Posts: 785 Mt. Vernon, WASH. | My idea of camping on the bike any more is calling ahead to a KOA and reserving a 'cabin' that I ride right up to, take my sleeping bag off the bike, and go check in. Too old, stiff, and creaky to enjoy the 'pleasures' of laying on the hard cold ground anymore. Most have a pool and a hot tub to soak away the miles and are close enough to a town or city for centralized touristy stuff. before it's time to jam again. |
