Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | Great ride to Kentucky and back. I took the low road, that is down through Southwest Virginia and up and across Kentucy to Radcliff. Needed a new tire badly and the dealership in Roanoke took care of me, and for less than if I had done it myself. Good thing I got the tire because I encountered rain most of the way and there was also no way the tire could have last the 1,249 miles for the round trip. The Vision performed flawlessly as usual, even pulling up the mountain side with about 350lbs of cargo. I've been having some neck and arm issues that I thought I would have to suffer through for the joy of riding. But, it helped me more than it did hinder me. My bike is now a physical therapy machine!! Actually, it has been that all along, but I thought the problems I was having was because of riding, now I know that is not the case. The return trip was sweet and I choose to take the high ride, mainly I-64 home. Met a great Vision rider, Rick Farrar in Louisville for lunch. He takes a lot of trips on his Vision, but I don't know what is mileage is. I made it from Louisville to the driveway right at 11 hours. I saw plently of bikes, but most of them were heading west. This is Rolling Thunder weekend and I figured I get into a pack, but there was none. Except for a few places I had the road open to myself and had an average speed on the Vision meter of 71.7 miles per hours. When I started on Tuesday it was around 41mph average. I saw one Vision 8-ball headed West in Kentuky. I did ride a few miles with a Harley rider on his way to Allentown. He rode like I do and he stayed with me through the traffic like we had always rode together. Then he just with no warning took an exit while we were in the hammer lane. He didn't look like he had any trouble, maybe stopping for gas. I had to head East just a few miles up the ride while he would have headed North anyways. I never saw any deer and again the bike performed flawlessly. I realize that all I have to do is keep the Bentley in oil, tires and gas, I twist the throttle and she does the rest. I've never had a machine that I enjoy more with every use like the Vision. |

It is another Vision rider from San Antonio. I have so many things on my calendar in the next eight months that I need a social secretary too keep things straight.
This guy, Jerry, walks up to me at the bicycle ride last Saturday and asked if I was on the Victory. I said yes and that is how I met another local Vision rider. That day Jerry rode his pedal bike not his Vision.
I will send you both an email so you can discuss his trip.

| Chris: Glad your trip went well. The bike lets you move around while riding, in a car you get stiff from one position & setting too long. Chris it's the computor that cause your problems. The bike lets you relax. Take more trips. |

No, others think that I'm crazy, but this what keeps me sane. Others think it hurts to ride more than 10 miles, but I'm the most comfortable on my bike for hundreds of miles, than on any piece of furniture I own. Other's think it is very dangereous to ride a motorcyle, but I'm shakey on the ladder, clumbsy with powertools and knives, yet I'm fine tuned on the bike. Fortunely I can't hear very well so I only have to listen to it if I get too close to them. |
