Working in the Niantic, CT. area this summer and looking for good roads to ride..maybe Blue Ox or others have some suggestions. Already did the River and mystic runs which are beautiful. Looking for out of the way roads. The Vision wants to run...because if I stop I spend about 15 minutes every time answering questions

90% of the roads in CT are great for riding, smooth and twisty. Just point, go and enjoy.

Give me holler when you want to ride. here are some of my favorites.
Rt 49 to Rt 14 to Rt 102 in RI. then you can take 101 to 44 across CT. This will take you all the way to NY if you have a mind to.
Take Rt 12 North to NH and pick a road west to Rt 32 and head home that way.
Rt 169 is really nice road to travel.
If you want to head out to Lloyd in NY take 95 south to 10 then to 34 then to 84 then 52 in NY to Pine Bush.
Rt 97 and 89 and 87 and 66 are good roads to ride and finding a route to them is the fun part.
Rt 32 is a good ride if you want to visit Higgins in MA. Nice people and go east on 122 a couple miles and on the left is the "Cozy Cabin" or Log Cabin" and they have great food there. The owner owns a '99 Victory. You can also get there going on 395 then west on 122.
Take as much of Rt 1 as you can all the way to New Haven.

Those should keep you busy for a little while. Some are a few hours and some are day trips but all are nice trips.

As are Virginia's. I'll be taking about a 150 mile ride today to see the folk in Winchester along Rt 522 and some back roads. What a great ride. I look forward taking the back roads all across this country. I have a friend who lives in Maine that I'd like to ride up see, taking all back roads. This is a great and beautiful country.
