Today was a sweet ride to the dealer. I finally got the iPhone cable, made my buddy buy a CC tour lol, tried to talk him into buying a vision but he doesn't like the look. So we get back to my place I pulled the center console off to make it easier, low & behold, only the three pin connector was there and not the 4 pin for the iPod. I was told by the salesman last week that all Visions are fully wired for the accessories.
Not sure he is correct, but I could not find the 4 pin anywhere???? I would think it would be part of the 3 pin harness correct??? I really wanted to control it through the controls and charge my phone

Note my 08 is the base model

To install the iPod cable you have to replace the standard aux in cable end. If you have the center console off all you have to do is follow the standard cable from the left fairing pocket to where it clips into the main wiring harness, simply unplug it, pull it out along with it's grommet from the left fairing pocket then install the iPod cable by threading it harness connection end first from the inside of the left fairing pocket, seat the rubber grommet that is on it into the hole in the side of the pocket and then connect it to where the standard aux cable previously connected.

Thanks, I get that part no problem but the cable got has two plugs
One 3 pin (aux) & the other is 4 pin (iPod) there is no connector for it. I wanted to be able to charge my iPod/iPhone but without the 4 pin wiring I don't think it will work.

VitoB - By pure chance, I just installed my iPod cable yesterday, too. Both connectors you seek are really there, but because the 4-pin iPod-specific connector isn't used in the factory setup, it's buried under the console and has a black rubber cover on it. You have to pull off the cover to access the connector for the 4-pin side of the iPod cable. The 3-pin connector is opened up when you disconnect the standard 3.5mm audio input jack.

I installed the iPod relocation kit to place it in the left saddlebag, but instead of removing the 3.5" jack from the glvebox, I just popped on the rubber cap that came from the 4-pin connector. Eventually I'd like to wire the 3.5" jack back into the system so that I have both options available (one at a time, of course).

Good luck. Given how integrated every aspect of the electrical system is on this bike, I have to be almost 100% positive it's actually there.

VitoB,

Read the thread below. You have the wrong cable for the 2008 and 2009 Vision. There are three different iPod cables for the Victory Vision.

http://www.vision-riders.com/bb/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=2726&pos...

**********************************
2008 and 2009 Visions

The easier way to fix charging for the 2008 and 2009 Visions is the newer Black cable (part number 2877894) that will charge any iPod/iPhone for $99.99. It has a box in the cable that coverts the voltage and sends it to the correct pin to charge the iPod/iPhone.

The old white iPod cable for the 2008 and 2009 Victory Vision iPod Power Cord & Console Link is $49.99 Victory Item #: 2876116 (if you can find them). This cable requires a separate charge converter to charge newer iPhones and iPods.

2010 and newer Vision's
Starting with the 2010 year model they came out with a newer radio and a new iPod cable (Part number 2877195). This cable will work with any 2010 or newer Vision with a radio. (Sorry it will not for the stock Vision 8 Ball, no radio)

I actually bought the $99 black one that has the box, my issue is I cannot find the 4 pin connector anywhere or I just need to look a little harder. As hack said it is there with a black cover on it. I know I have to update the software on the radio as it is ver 4.08 currently. I had the console off and did not see it but I'll look again hell 5 bolts to get it off is worth another look.

The dealer told me even though it is the base model vision, it is still wired for everything????

There are two cables that have the black box. One is for 2008-2009 Visions and the other for 2010 and above.

Did you buy part number 2877894 (2008 and 2009) or 2877195 (2010 and above)?

Ill have to look when I get home but it does have the box inline. However, since these bikes are mass produced, I would speculate that they install the same wiring harness on all models.

Because of the new radio in 2010 the connectors and harnesses changed...a lot.

2008 Original Harness
2009 Harness changed to support reverse
2010 Harness changed to support new radio and ABS
