I recently had Lloydz IAC valve added to my 08 VV and noticed when showing it off that it had fallen out and was laying between the cylinders. I put it back in and unscrewed it 3.5 turns and the bike ran fine. After about 100 miles the popping from the exhaust came back and upon inspection had come out about 1 turn to 4.5 turns. What is everyone else doing about this? Does anyone else have this problem? Will locktite fix this? Will a lock nut prevent it from falling out? It seems really loose and I didn't know if by design air was supposed to leak around the screw or not.

Blue Locktite NOT red unless you never want that screw to move again

Does it rely on an air leak around the threads to operate properly our is it purely mechanical fuel enrichment?

I remember someone else saying they had this problem recently, not sure who, but they noticed a weird sucking noise and their AIC screw had fallen out. Right now, I'm wondering WWKD. What would Kevinx do?

I've had the same problem...Mine has backed out several times, but never all the way out...It gets backed out just far enough to where air is lacking in and causes a whistling sound....Dealer found it first time and I've adjusted it ever since...Having it taken off in a couple of weeks....Not worth the headache

I would call Lloydz and see what he said or
wrap teflon tape around threads. If you use blue locktite pull screw and put just a drop and let it sit over night so it drys to the screw and not the housing.

I have noticed my Vision hiccuping lately between shifts. I went out to check my Lloydz IAV (Idle Air Valve) after reading this post. I found 2 of the rubber hoses supplied with the unit are split lengthwise. Looks like I will have to stop by the autoparts store tomorrow for new hose.

As far as the screw turning on its own, I put a small dimple in the threads with a center punch. It hasn't turned in a couple of years. I also put a dimple on the head of the screw so I could easily tell if it has turned.

Just thought I'd let anyone else with this problem know that there is a spring that puts tension on the screw that can be added as well as a tighter fitting screw. Blue lock tight did fix the problem, but Kyle at KMC Powersports took care of me when I told him of the problem at the Southeastern Victory Rally this weekend!
