Has anyone changed from a premium tour windshield to one of the flips? What were or are the results? Thanks Dwight

It looks like most people that have tried the flip did so from a small shield...I have done searches and that is the most common switch.

I got the light smoked Gustafson flip. I find the wind goes over your head better than the stock sheild.

gottavision, did you have a full size shield to begin with? I have been thinking about getting a Gus but at the same height as the factory shield. If it really does not make much differece from the factory then I can not see doing it.

I had a full size shield to start. I purchased 16" Gus shield, which I thought would be same height as factory but is a little higher than factory. The factory shield I would have all the way up and look thru the shield to get the wind to go over my head, the Gus shield I can look over the shield and because of the flip the wind goes over my head.

gottavision, thanks for the reply, I have measured the center line of the stock and it is 17.5 inches, It would seem the gus would be a little shorter? I know that everyone seem to measure from different positions.

I measured before I ordered and actually taped the factory shield where I thought I wanted the Gus shield, which was 1.5" lower and thought I was ordering 1.5" shorter than factory but the 16"is actually higher. Not sure why. The only thing I can think of is I also put the Ness seat on which is 1"lower and I think 1" forward. When I put it all the way up I am looking thru shield by about 1.5". Which is nice when raining, heavy winds on highway or riding 2up. I am 5'7" 173lbs. Love the electric windshield, you can put it where you want.

Are you sure the Ness seat pushes you closer to the handlebars? I'm being told there's no difference. Also, the relative position with the passenger increases (since the pillion area is not lowered, only the driver area). My passengers feel pretty exposed as it is sitting so much higher than the driver, I'm thinking I don't want to further increase that difference.

I'm 6'3" - went from the stock to the Cee Baily 21 inch, works perfect. All the way up I can look through it with no problems and the wind / rain protection is great. All the way down and I easly see over it. Best mod to the bike I did.
