| Hey folks, I have a friend that works the service dept at a Harley dealership. They have a VV that was traded in, and they need to replace the battery...they just don't know how LOL. This is the first Victory that any of them has tried to work on.
Is the battery on the Vision located in the same place as it is on the Cross bikes? Are there anything special instructions they need to follow (ie: removing the fairing, etc.) when replacing it?
I searched the tech forum and couldn't find anything on it. |

| It's in the front lower part of the front fairing. Nothing to it. I have to wonder why anyone would trade a Vision for a Harley. |

There's been a couple. They said it never could compare to a Harley, fun, but not the same... or something like that... |

just sayin |

Posts: 204 guelph ontario | Speaking of batteries. I replaced mine with a Shorai lithium ion batt. Big mistake. Although the proper listed model was installedmit would not hold a charge nor turn the bike over. Went back to lead acid batt. Ni issues. Any other experiences with these lithium batts. Was mine just defective. |

| SYNSTR, I apologize for the generic response to your inquiry a few years ago. While we do not currently offer motorcycle batteries, we are obviously keeping an eye on this market (and the battery industry in general) and appreciate your feedback.

Believe me, I know what you mean. I was surprised as anybody when my friend (the service manager) asked me. This is pretty much an exclusive HD shop, and apprently this is the first Vic they had to do any work on. He originally asked me how to remove the seat. After explaining to him how, I asked why and he said they needed to swap the battery on a Vision. I told him he could take the seat off if he wanted, but he ain't gonna find the battery LOL |

Jim,
Thank you for taking the time to post a reply, now a days we all tend to feel like we're yelling down the drainpipe if we are foolish enough to hope for an answer, you break that mold and I apppreciate it a great deal.
Thanks so much-

Posts: 1365 Central Maryland | I gotta tell ya' even though the battery is seemingly "accessible" there in the lower front of the engine; it's still a pain in the ass to get to and remove... unless it's on a lift. I still don't like where Victory placed the battery; it's subjected to all sorts of crap thrown at it by inclement weather and the battery's terminals are not shielded/protected.
My butt has been too lazy so far to fabricate something to protect it... since I'm too busy riding this wonderful machine. |
