It has solid blue dials.  It has a little tang on the kickstand.  It has a dimple in the right saddlebag.  The headlight stays on during startup.  The saddlebags don't align perfectly and they have shock cylinders instead of cables.  It has BMW-style Powerlets instead of cigarette lighter plugs.  It has oval handlebars.  The trunk has a mysterious rattle.  It doesn't have a neutral finder.  It doesn't have ABS.  It had really soft clearcoat.

It is the most awesome American bike built in the last 50 years.  All others that follow it will be "better" but they will never be the one that started it all.

Long live the '08's!

I love my 08' so much I have racked up 51,600 miles on the poor old girl. Like you said, no matter how many Visions I may have, she will always be my first!

Tom - you share my same sentiments.  What seem to be of a whim, turned into an obsession, in a good way.  I can honestly say I have not put my Vision above anything else, but it does seems to be a catalyst to many good things.  I never thought when I started riding again 7 years ago I would have put over a 100,000 miles on a motorcycle, but the '08 Bentley is holding up extremely well.  Also, I do not desire to get a "new" Vision, at best I will refurbish this one as needed.  I still call my bike the Bentley, but I was thinking to myself riding down the road Friday that she's an old lady in the motorcycle realm.  So, I think I'll call her "Old Lady Bentley".  There is only one other motorcycle brand I would have in my garage, but Old Lady Bentley will be here to stay.

I wouldn't take for my '08. I'm going to look at the new design if and when they come out with it but I'll keep the old girl. She's been nothing but good to me.

We took the chance and won't ever turn back. Nice to have gotten in on the first year and have not been sorry a minute.

Riding my 08 hard which has custom paint. This is more of a bike than I ever expected. I got to finally "HOTROD" this bike at the Tomahawk Fall Ride during the parade last year. My buddy was impressed with the performance. Lookin to trade but love my custom paint on my ride. Like I always say:

I got hit by the TRUTH this weekend.

TRUTH is - there is not another bike ON THE PLANET that I would rather have. NOT ONE that I think is better looking. NOT ONE that I would trade my '08 for. NONE !!!

NIRVANA !

ALL the bikes at Daytona - NOT ONE ! And this will last me for the rest of my days (today being my 68th birthday) - what a wonderful feeling !!!

I got hit by the TRUTH this weekend.

Same here. I helped out at a dealership open house about three weeks ago, as a demo ride leader. This dealership sells Victory, Triumph, and Suzuki. I had the opportunity to ride a wide variety of bikes over the course of the weekend and I left knowing that I already had the bike for me. Not to say there weren't some other bikes I would like to own in addition to my Vision, but there were none I would trade my '08 TP for, including the 2012 Vision and the 2012 Cross Country. My wife rode on the demo rides with me and she totally agrees. The 2008 Vision Tour Premium rules!!

Maybe it was just the Super Steel Gray ones (Best looking), but I have a dimple
on the left, and one or two in the right last I noticed. I preordered mine in May
of 2007, so I think it is one first batches off the line? I don't know, not do any of
us by the VIN last I checked.

I feel the sentiments as SongFan wrote.

Happy Birthday to the Old Geezer Don!

The last five digits of your VIN will tell you, what number of motorcycle was rolling off the line for that year. Since they are all made on the same assembly line, yours could have been right behind a kingpin and behind yours a jackpot.

At least that is the way I remember it.

What number is yours?

I still have trouble with the IPOD and love my my black '08 Tour Premium. She's a keeper. There will never be another one like my '08. Now my wife enjoys the ride even more since I added the hatchtcd passenger hiway pegs for her.
