Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | Well, I'm sitting at the light on point and the light turns green and I go to get down on it as I usually do and the bike stalls. So I'm thinking fast as I've got a line of cars behind me and I refire the bike. It starts right back up with no problem. Then I see the bike is 4th gear. So, I do a quick down shift and away I go like a bat out of torment. Now I'm curious whether switching back to MaVic oil from a full synthectic had anything to do with it, or could it be that I'm still using a motorcycle tire. I'm due an oil change and a rear tire change, so now is the time to make decision. Some help in deciding is much appreciated....I've watched RadioTeacher's video several times but don't know where to buy pure virgin oil as I live in a less than scrupulous area and those are hard to come by. |

Don't buy into the hype!! |

| Since your bike is a little overweight in mileage I would recommend not switching to olive oil, but to go with safflower oil instead. It is a lot easier on the system and the bike might even lose a few miles in the process.
Also as a bike gets up there in miles, regular riding starts to get hard on the suspension when using nimble motorcycle tires. I recommend you switch to the more "practical" car tire to slow you down a little and be a little easier on your suspension.

| Chris, I agree with Bill, after 120,000 + miles on her.... if you haven't trained her what gear to be in at the light, it's time to trade her in for a newer, more trainable version... with the upgraded tranny!

I used to have senior moments, now it's a way of life.... |

I'm hoping by the time the clutch goes I can have a second bike to ride, an Indian, but that is yet to be seen...the bentley will always be in the stable, even if it is in pieces... |

| Its nice your a live to tell the store but if I was you and your brain is not working I wouldn't leave the house for six months. Have a case of beer deliveries every day and you'll be back to normal in six months. |
