Wondering if anyone has installed a cigarette lighter (not just a powerpoint)on the Vision? If so, which one did you buy and where did you install? I keep going back and forth with a handlebar mount versus drilling a hole for one. I have been using the port in the left compartment for a lighter but its tough to access while riding. This link below is one from Emgo I've been looking at. Thanks

i personally wouldnt drill a hole just to mount a cigarette lighter. unless you plan on keeping the bike a long time.. that would hurt resale... i use my C.L. inmy glove box, i can access mine just fine when i come to a stop light. if you go the handlebar route at least you can remove it later with no perm markings/holes...

Swing by your local airport and go to the local repair station or aircraft parts store and ask for an 'ADEL' clamp. They are aluminum strap type clamps with holes in each end for a screw/nut/washer, they come in diameter increments of 1/16ths of an inch and have a slide on rubber cushion. They are used to cushion wire bundles and trubing against vibration damage. they will grip your handlebar tube firmly and without slipping or marring. Measure the diameter and take that info with you, mount your lighter base through the screw point and you have a clean installation wth a minimum of clutter.
GOOGLE IMAGE 'ADEL CLAMPS, Aircraft' to see what they look like.

Synster, thanks for the tip on the Adel clamps. I checked Amazon and they are pretty cheap there. Arkainzeye, good point on drilling but the area I was considering was the shroud coming off the lower part of the console that flares out. its pretty innocuous in that area.

Get a Zippo and a belt clip lighter holder. No holes. No wires. No worries.

You can buy them at your local hardware store http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=adel+clamps

If you pull your wedge you will see on the back side its all ready has the key slot so I drilled into the 106 badge. When I quit I will buy a new badge

I use the cigarette lighter in my glove box all the time.  All you have to do is flip it open, depress and hold (I hold it so I know when it's popped) the lighter, and light whatever you happen to be smokin'.  This is one of the things I love about the 2011 Vision...they went from the powerport to the cigarette lighter style adaptor.
