Posts: 15 Sunshine Coast, B.C. Canada | After over a year of scrimping, saving, and overtime'n. I got myself onto a '12 Victory XCT (red).
After 7 problem free years, the softtail is gone.(no regrets, onward and upward)
As of today, I've got 600km logged, and absolutely no complaints.
We are so impressed that the wife and I decided to go for a little ride....Vancouver to Nashville.
Leaving 7th of May and back for the 26th.
Hitting the Avenue of the Giants(redwoods), Grand Canyon, Roswell(don't ask),Memphis(Graceland), Nashville (HonkyTonk Row,Grand ole Opry), and Spirit Lake on the way home.
If you see a British Columbia plate, wave, I`m always in the mood for coffee.
P.S. Mostly I-5 to Bakersfield then east(ish) to Memphis
Anyone that may know of anything worth stopping and seeing along the way, please let us know.

I did a 15,000 k trip last summer , R66 out to Cal , up the coast to BC, onto Alberta, back into USA Montana Wyoming, SD and then home. 5 weeks on the road , just an awesome time.
Sounds like you are hitting some of the spots we did ,,, Avenue of the giants ,, grand Canyon North Rim ( by doing this you can see Zion NP in Utah ) Vegas was cool.
I did a trip blog and friends back home here really enjoyed seeing / reading what we did each day.
Enjoy it should be a great time.
Most of the trip was planned out, but as we spoke to the locals they would recommend spots to go to. So leave some time for side trips.

| Wow great for you guys! That would be so much fun. Memories of a lifetime.
If you have the time, stop by Ness in Dublin, Calif. Great service, if you need any, and on the second floor Arlen has his museum of gorgeous custom bikes.

15,000k wow.
How did you deal with your phone?
I heard that buying a pre paid phone in the US is the best/cheapest way to go.
Thoughts?? | |

Phone was no problem the friend I went with had gone into Buffalo prior to the trip and he picked up a track phone. We used that in the US ,, well worth it.

Posts: 215 W'ford Tx | +1 on the prepaid phone. If you're a big country music fan then hit up the house of cash (Jonny Chash's recording studio) Nashville also has some of the best pawn shops if you're into that sort of thing. If you're a guitar player then stop by Opry Mills, it's a shopping mall but houses (or used to, it's been awhile since I lived there) the gibson guitar shop where you can check out luthiers putting on some finishing touches on final guitars before they're set out onto the shelves. All worth checking out!

11800 km, no rain until Idaho on the way home.
Bike ran great, other than a little oil dripping onto the rear jug from a breather hose (so i'm told)
Made an "Iron Butt" run on sun the 20th- Bethany MO north to I 90 then east to Sheridan WY, 1048 mi.
I even detoured down to Spirit Lake and rode by the factory, (to bad it was sun. or I would have stopped for coffee).
Thankfully, Ken and Linda at "Americas Best Value Inn" Sheridan, knew about Iron Butt and were willing to sign my "end of ride form".
All in all, a fantastic vacation, although highway pegs will be added before my next long run.
