Posts: 3773 Pittsburgh, PA | I ran the darkside on my 2008 Vision. I now have a 2011 vision and i was reading the service manual tonight and there was a section about the brakes and the (ABS) system and keeping the tire size the same. has anyone gone to the darkside with a vision with ABS? |

Posts: 3773 Pittsburgh, PA | thanks.. the reason i posed it was i read of this happening to cars. one guy had the same size tires front and rear. well he needed rear tire replaced so he found a set on sale that wasnt the same "height" but he thought it wouldnt matter. afterwards he said simple easy braking made the abs engage... so i was just a litle wondered that a different diameter rear tire (over than OEM) might throw off the math of the abs system... from what i rear the 3 closest (very close) sizes to oem is 175/60 185/60 & 195/55 |

I have a 2009 so I can't say for sure if the ABS would be affected in anyway. Posts: 3773 Pittsburgh, PA | it looks like the 175/60-16 is the closest match IF you want to install a Hitch down the road.... i heard you cant install a hitch if you use a 195/55-16? |

Right...the 175/60/16 works well with a hitch doc and the speedometer/odometer is fairly accurate too. A 195/55/16 will rub slightly on the top inside of the hitch doc, depending on rear air shock pressure amounts.

Posts: 3773 Pittsburgh, PA | im Learning alot here..... Thank you! im more than likely going to order a 175/60-16 good year ASSurance fuel max.. i have a goldwing buddy that said he went from a 195 ct to a 175 on his 2010 wing and he claims the 175 is "easier" to turn and lean. So much so that he doesnt want to ever go back to a 195. |

| I don't know if it will affect motorcycles but it will cause problems with cars. The rotational differential is affected in cars. |

Posts: 3773 Pittsburgh, PA | in the 2011 vision service manual in section 15.32 this is the part that started my thread. Here is what it said. i just wanted to share and explain why i started this thread.
Operating with non-recommended tire or improper tire pressure may reduce the effectiveness of the anti lock brake system.
then
Always install the recommended size and type of tires specified for the vehicle.
