In response to a request from a member of this forum I am posting pics of my Garmin Zumo 660 mount that I made out of some scrap aluminum I had laying around. I am not a machinist - I just made it with basic hand tools and a drill press.
There is a sheetmetal plate under the dash that helps to spread out the stress of the bolts and weight of the Garmin. The cable goes through the underside of the dash through a grommet. I will get it black chromed when I get a chance. I hope that answers all the questions, if not rop me a line and I will try to answer them.
PS - yes I know it is crooked, I need to loosen the screws and straighten it out!

Do you have a picture of the underside of the dash where the cable/grommet is placed?

Thanks.

I have added a picture of where the wiring goes through the dashboard.
