im in the market for a hitch and i was wondering how hitch doc doesnt list a difference between if you have a abs model or not. but BushTech lists two different hitches. one for ABS and for NON-Abs.... i was just wondering if anyone on here know why they list a Abs and non abs model...

I don't know the answer to your question, but I have a Hitch Doc on my 2011 w/ABS and haven't noticed any issues.

If you decide on the hitch doc, I recommend inverting the trunk bolts that the base of the hitch mounts to (the nut on top of the bolt in the trunk access panel).  This way you can remove the trunk without interferring with the hitch.

thank you very much for sharing this.. i have an 11 vision and was wondering how it worked with the abs. i saw no reason why it would cause a issue, but then i noticed bushtech has a ABS hitch and it made me ask why...... also thanks for shareing about the trunk. But i will never remove my trunk.. i use the living hell out of that thing!!! i use my side bags for like rain gear and things i never really use... and the trunk is what im opening and reaching into every single day i ride... i also have a 3.5mm cable runnin from the front to the trunk so i can stream pandora internert radio and use the power port to charge my phone all at the same time. =)

I also use the hell out of my trunk and never leave it off, but I have removed it a couple of times to do other work.  If you don't invert the bolts you have to access the nuts under the rear fender where the hitch mounts to the trunk to remove the trunk.  With the bolts inverted, all you have to do is remove the nuts in the trunk well and pull the trunk.

By the way, I don't have a trailer but use a cooler rack from Kuryaykn (sp) which allows me to carry a good size bag down low on the back of the bike (required when I travel with the wife)

Im REALLY interested in that rack your talking about.. do you have any problems with it covering your lights? mostly turn signals.... i have the 99led mod done which acts as a very bright brake light.. i have a gold wing buddy that had a type of hitch rack and he got pulled over out of state. the police said it was blocking his lights/plate.. but that was on a gold wing....

I also have the LEDs along the trunk lid, but did it slightly different than the "99 mod".  I have a center strip of red LEDs for brakes, and strips of amber LEDs on either side for turn signals.

Yes the stock tail lights are somewhat blocked when the rack is loaded (depends on the size of the load), but I feel safe with the brake and turn signals up higher on the trunk lid (I feel safer with that setup even when not using the rack, as I feel they are more in a driver's sight line and easier to see than the stock lights down low).  I don't use the hitch rack often (only longer trips with the wife), but have never been stopped or questioned about blocking my rear lights.

i wish i would have put my turn signals up high like that as well.... i think the stock turn signals are pretty crappy. and i dont want to make the running lights turn signals by altering the wiring... the vision has enough issue with cruise control units and people messing with their wiring... i dont want to be one of those people.. =(

does your rack cover the liecense plate at all?

The rack doesn't cover the license plate, but depending on the size of what you load on it the plate may be covered.  Again, I've never been stopped or questioned on it.  Not sure how it would be different than vehicles that have a hitch rack installed, it too often covers the license plate when loaded.

I will try and get a couple pics of it this afternoon after work so you can get a better idea of the setup.

As a matter of suggestion only, you could apply the trailer harness also, then rig up something sporty on the back side of the rack to accomadate lights, and maybe even the license plate. Just an idear...
