| I am getting my right side lid replaced tomorrow under warranty. The dealer needs to take a picture of the dimples and send it to Polaris where they will determine to replace or not. The battery is being replaced also. |

Posts: 297 VA | I just sent my pics to the dealer to have them replaced. Hopefully they will stand up and do the right thing. Don't know, but if someone has been denied this, I would be interested in the rationale they were given.
Also, pfhague, check with your dealer, but I was shooting the bull with mine a few weeks ago and he said that they had a problem with the grounding wire. Apparently he came up with a low cost solution and Victory adopted this simple fix. I believe he said one of the symptoms was that the battery would not charge properly while the bike was running. So, if they give you a new battery and it still happens, that could be the cause. Just FYI. |

Posts: 64 Columbia,MO | I am waiting to hear from my dealer who contacted Victory today about replacing both bags. One because of dimples the other has a milky place in it. Mine was built in November of 2007 but I just purchased it 3 weeks ago. I will let you all know how I make out. |

Posts: 1324 So Cal | My dimples vary with temp. Im wondering if this is the reason a repair is not practicle. Other than that, the lids fit and close perfectly. Thats why Im not sure if I want them replaced. I may be trading one problem for another. |

Posts: 143 Birmingham, AL 08 MC Tour Premium 2012 Bronze Mist | Mine has the dimple on the right bag. Purchased in Sept. of 07. Filed a warranty claim with my local dealer before Christmas and nothing has happened.
I haven't called to harass them but don't think I should have to. They've changed names and location since my purchase. They were American Cycle Centers and now they're Victory Suzuki.
Dealer issues are another thread though.
Love the bike. Ripped all the Silver pieces off the bike to have them painted Midnight Cherry, with the exception of the piece just below the seat. I replaced it with the chrome one.

All free of charge. So tell your dealer to fix your dimple pronto. Don't take no for an answer tell them to contact Victory. Good Luck!!! |

Posts: 64 Columbia,MO | Replaced all four silver pieces with chrome ones from Victory. The chrome piece with the badge in it looks the best. I highly recommend changing that one. The other 3 are not as noticable. My 1st generation ipod works excellent and sounds awesome with the stock speakers. Extremely happy with my Vision. |

| Mine was purchased two weeks ago and I don't have any problems. But, even after a short while, the front of the side bags are starting to wear down. I ride with my wife as the passenger and at first I thought her boots were hitting, then I noticed it was her jeans. Anyone else having this problem? |

Yes. After a 900 mile ride with my girlfriend on back the front sides of my bag lids were worn through the clear coat and into the actual paint. They are wrecked. |

| Not to get off topic.........I have had 2 cosmetic issues replaced under warranty from my dealer. My dealer took a picture of the problem submitted it and Victory took care of it. I just want to say any issues you have with your Vision that arent being addressed are not Victorys fault, it's because of a lazy dealership..Period. |

Posts: 5 Irving, Texas | I never really gave it any thought until I read this post, so I went and looked and sure enough the top edge on both my right and left bags are dimpled and the center panel just below the license plate has dimples too but not as pronounced. There is even some slight dimpling on the small ledge on both the left and right side of the tank panels, actually it's the part of the fairing that runs along the side of the tank.
In addition to the dimples I have milky spots on the gas door and the panel just above the gas door. My bike was manufactured in April 2008 so this problem is not reserved to only last years run. I haven't approached my dealer yet with this so it will be interesting to see how they handle it.
Cheers!

Posts: 354 20 miles west of Chicago. | My dealer just replaced the dimpled right bag cover under warranty and the left, which is not as bad as the right was, is on backorder, at 2500 mile service. I also had a buzzing vibration coming from the left rear-view mirror and when tightening it up didn't work, he took the mirror off of a brand new just-uncrated Vision and replaced my bad one with it, which fixed the problem, also under warranty. Having a dealer who knows his products and takes good care of his customers is a godsend. I've read posts about some dealers who could benefit from studying his way of doing business. He just had to start staying open 7 days a week becuase he's got so much business, not because his shop is particularly large, but because he has great reputation, and it's 99% from people talking to other people. |

| My dealer has a new right side bag waiting for me, he said it was under warrenty. I have alot of mold flash on the passenger handle grips, and Victory rejected my claim. My dealer said he would work on it. Victory said that's just how it is. I told my dealer I didn't pay $22,000 for a bike touted as the "future of american motorcycling" to have cheap defective parts. My dealer said he completely understands my point of view and will try to get them replaced. |

Posts: 3773 Pittsburgh, PA | Im glad you guys are getting your lids replaced under warranty. But get this.. I was reading my Polaristar protection plus warranty and i was shocked to read the part that says in section 4 Exclusions; here is only part of it.. Body parts, timing belt, cosmetic trim parts, brake rotors, complete exhaust system, low compression, excessive oil useage. there is a ton more. i was just happy to read people with the dimples on their lids were getting covered. Cause in the warrranty it might be considered a body part.. |

Posts: 102 Madison, AL | I have the dimples but didn't notice them until this thread, thanks!!! I can't see them unless I look real hard and when I'm riding I don't spend a lot of time looking at the finish of my bags. I know that when you pay this much for a bike the fit and finish should be excellent, however, it doesn't bother me that much. |

Posts: 354 20 miles west of Chicago. | Both of mine have now been replaced under warranty. Kudos to Victory and to the dealer who ensured that it got done. I used to think it was kind of hard to see the dimples unless you were looking for them, but it's absolutley amazing how easily seen their absence is. |

Posts: 30 Bellevue, NE | I had both of my saddlebags with dimples in them. I took delivery of my Vision last October and just now got the new bag covers. The new ones were so much darker gray than my paint that it looks like a charcoal gray rather than super steel gray. There was so much of a difference that my dealer took a set off a bike he had on the showroom that was closer. Yes, not as dark as the replacements but still more dark than the rest of the bike. I now have a two-tone bike. I checked with different body shops and they said that the color won't fade to eventually match the rest of the bike. It bums me out since I now have a limited-edition bike with Victory not continuing the color for '09.
Any advice to get this resolved? |

Posts: 102 Madison, AL | I had a little mishap and had to get the front faring replaced. I now have a Grey two tone bike. You can't really tell except in very bright daylight. I was told I would have to get the whole bike repainted to solve the problem. He started telling me about metallic paints, batch mixing, etc. However, he lost me at getting the whole bike repainted so I didn't pay much attention to the rest of what was said. |

Posts: 83 Lexington, North Carolina | I finally got around to taking my Vision to the dealer which is 3 hours away to have the windshield and saddlebag cover replaced. I had been having second thoughts about even having the cover replaced because of all the talk about soft clear coats, and I hadn't had any problems with my current doors. The dealer had two black covers that had been shipped to them from Victory and believe it or not both of them came out of the box scratched all to crap on one end. I think I'm just going to keep mine, dent and all. |

Posts: 725 Reno County, KS | Yeah, I have the dimples... On the hardbags, outer Leg Fairing, Left and Right fairing. Pretty much every peice that was molded out of plastic has dimples in it. They look like little hail dents in the sun light. I'm sure all the early bikes have them. Probably all Visions have a few somewhere. |

You either have it or you don't.

Me and T-Rex must share the same walnut size brain but I don't have this "dimple" on my hardbags...so how noticable it this thing?
When I read this thread it made what my dealer was really sure to mention to me upon delivery was..."be sure to get back to me in about 30 days or so if you notice any blemishes in the finish".
Is it plain to see because I can't believe a dealer would let it go out the door without telling you I see something you won't like. |

Posts: 1324 So Cal | The dimple is right below the sidebag lock cylinder and rear mount for the grabhandle. Both sides. After a year, mine are hardly noticeable. Black bike too. Cycle Dragon said they would submit a claim. I havent heard from them yet. They told me most of the replacements come in damaged due to poor packaging. I've given up on replacements. |
