Pumping more air raise the bike too?

Cruiser Posts: 104 Does putting more air in the rear shock raise the bikes seat height as well or just changes the dampening action? Iron Butt Posts: 802 Yes, its like adding spring preload which raises the rear of the bike up slightly. It has no effect on dampening. If you run it at 20#, and you should get about 1/2 -3/4" less than the stock 40#. Just don't run it lower than 20# - depending on your weight. Someone suggested that I try letting the air out of the tires to help with my height problem! LOL No seriously.....I will see what mine is set at. I could use all the help I can get.
