Posts: 554 2 mi from Jim Beam n KY | This is getting infuriating!! Afternoon highs are in the low 50s. I'm on day shift right now and the morning temps are just below freezing, 28 to 30 degrees, with frost warning and local tv adviserys about slick roads. Plus, I live in a rural area where a lot of people haul water.
I want to ride my scooter but these morning temps need to warm up just a few degrees!!!!! When I bought the scooter in Jan 2011, I rode as long as the roads were clear. I was working nights and riding home the bike would show 25 to 27 degrees. Not long ago there was a thread here about black ice and folks hauling water, which made me re-think riding with below freezing temps. I had never thought about water splashing out and creating black ice.

Or worse, you could have what happened to me while on my late Kingpin...... A septic tank vacuum truck sloshing. I WISH it had been frozen. End result would have been the same, but I would have smelled a lot better! |

| Were having a very mild winter you can all lost ride once ever week. Now the state has issued warning to motorcycles for road heaving and large cracks. You ask its at lease one to two days 40 or above and no snow.
